2021 Ford F250 Tremor Adventure Rig

Your Stony Pass adventure definitely sounds interesting. Risking damage is one thing... but rolling down a mountain is less good.

Have you weighed your rig fully loaded for travel? I'm curious what your front / rear axle weights are.

Yes. Fully loaded, all tanks full, we're around 11,200 pounds. Weight distribution is roughly equal front to back, if I measured it correctly on the scale. Never been on one before so it was a new experience for me.

Hwy 12 is such a nice drive. I’ve always wanted to explore some of those dirt roads that are scattered throughout Boulder mtn

Typically, I like going up to Yankee Boy, then Alpine Loop. Haven’t done Ophir and may try that this time around.

Hwy. 12 is one of my favorite drives. We've explored the Aquarius Plateau, Hell's Backbone Road and a couple of the dirt roads on Boulder Mountain, but there's a lot of territory out there to wander. I know there are lots of little lakes on Boulder Mountain and I'd love to spend a few days visiting a few of them.

Yankee Boy is always a fan favorite, especially when the wildflowers are blooming or aspens are changing.

I just installed the Fox ATS steering stabilizer and it's awesome, highly recommended! Also installed a 60 gallon tank from S&B, another worthwhile upgrade. You should do the same.

I assume that it is a dual stabilizer? If so, it should be compatible with a PMF draglink that I read about on another forum. It sounds like a very good improvement in steering for the price.

Compatability issues outlined on the PMF website:
"Since the entire bar spins when adjusted, it cannot have a tapered hole for a OEM style of steering stabilizer as it would never align properly. It is recommend to run a dual steering stabilizer kit or a stabilizer that clamps on the outside of the bar (OD is 1.5") instead."

No, it's a through shaft design, and it's adjustable, I believe it's the best on the market. The stock steering stabilizer was horrible. Paid right about $440ish for it.

Single stabilizer, attaches to the frame side then clamps to the drag link. Does not use the factory tapered bolt.

As long as I clamps on, I think it should still be compatible with the PMF

Not sure what the rules are on posting links to other forums but here is some info:

Thanks for costing me $ lol, just ordered the PMF drag link, trying to avoid the notorious death wobble. Do you have the pmf drag link?

No, all stock so far but it's on my list along with aftermarket steering stabilizer and probably Bilstein 5100. I want to do it all at once so I'm waiting until I get my camper and see how it sits and drives loaded.

When budget permits I'll install the Carli high and low steering stabilizers as well as their sway bar. Definitely interested in a larger fuel tank.

I am surprised (a little) that you weigh that much. My D-max powered Bundutec combo weighed 12k fully loaded with a 50g fresh water tank and 52g diesel tank. I would have thought you would be closer to 10k.

We carry 40 gallons of water, 34 gallons of fuel, 3 people and a dog, all the camping/mountain biking/hiking gear, etc. We definitely aren't traveling light. Hell, our bikes and rack are around 200 lbs. and that doesn't include helmets, backpacks/waist packs, tools and all the other gear and clothing. The Norweld trays aren't light, either.

That’s kind of my point. I had a 900lb diesel motor, steel front bumper, 12k winch with steel cable, sliders and every tool needed to work on the truck, including a ready welder, all of the fluids, spare parts and the back seat was removed. In its place was a plywood box holding spare parts, recovery gear, more tools, a second refrigerator, and a whole lot more. My Alum-Line flatbed was rhino lined on top and underneath as well. We were packed and lived out of it and planned on driving to SA, so we had everything I and I do mean everything in that truck and camper, yet I only outweighed you by 800lbs. Plus my Bundutec, was an 8’ floor with a full queen bed over the cab and made of wood with a fiberglass outer wall. Not exactly light either. That’s why I’m surprised.

Even though your 07' is a diesel it is probably lighter of than a Tremor when it was stock. Newer trucks are heavy!

We were probably a week or two too early for the aspens. They were just beginning to turn color. But fun trip. Ophir was ok. Not too exciting. One and done probably.

Did you see the Tacoma on engineer pass? I’m not sure when it happened but looked recent.
