2021 Ram 2500 Mega Cab Limited with 41,XXX miles $80,000

Adult owned and not beaten on with oil services and all fluids changed regularly. No 5th wheel prep but I do tow a 5k travel trailer a few times a year. This is a Limited so it has all the options that I know of with the exception of the 5th wheel prep. Mechanically truck is in fantastic shape having just spent 8k on the Hamilton Flat tappet conversion kit and installing head studs about 3k miles ago. Truck started the typewriter tick so within 500 miles I went ahead and had it done. The paint is in excellent condition with only minor wear and tear as with any well maintained 4 year old truck. I will list out all of the mods below but feel free to ask any questions if serious in purchasing. Not pictured but also included is a paint matched ARE hard camper shell(Pics on request)

For those of us not familiar with the typewriter tick, can you explain the issue and fix? Is this a common problem with this model?

Also, where is the truck located and cab you provide an image of the original sticker and/or VIN?

Yes absolutely! The typewriter tick appears to be from some bad parts supplied by vendors for Ram which is causing premature wear on the pushrods as well as the lifters. In some cases the lifters are turning in the bore and getting stuck causing engine failure. It seems to be more of a widespread problem then originally though as it seems to be more and more common everyday.

Ram has now posted a bulletin and are investigating a solution at this time. (They won't go back to flat tappet unfortunately)

Engineers wanted to quiet down the engine in the 5th gen models so they switched to a roller lifter vs the flat tapped design from previous gens that never caused issues.

The Hammilton conversion takes you back to the reliable flat tappet bullet proof design. The kit includes a all new camshaft, DLC coated flat tappet design lifters, rocker arms and pushrods to eliminate the issue ever happening again. the kit alone is about $3500.00

The truck is located in Waxhaw North Carolina

Thanks!
