Love these trailers and they are very close to where I live. Everyone has different needs and wants and after 10 years of camping in a pop up tent trailer I just don't want to deal with canvas or zippers in anyway. Plus I need a stand up trailer. If I was looking at a square or teardrop it would be this or an RKS. Good luck you have the nicest Expedition Voyager built that I have seen.

Hey thanks! We spent a lot of time working with Loren (Xgrid) and Artie (Xpedition) to fine tune what we wanted - they were both awesome. I agree that not having stand up space is something to work around (we have a 5 side gazelle, wall kit for the 270 awning and a 23zero annex room that attaches to the tent in line with the side door - all which all help you stretch out a bit. Even the 4.5" lift was chosen to give more room under the awning and bring the work surfaces up a bit. We've had large trailer trailers in the past, so this will definitely be a change that we're excited about.

We bought a 200W Zamp Obsidian portable solar kit -- I'm here to tell you that the standing cases they put these panels in (although really nice) are bulky and add twice the weight! I removed one portable panel from it's case and hard mounted it to the spare roof rails, we have a parallel pig tail tucked away when adding in the other 100W portable.

We are taking delivery of our Xpedition in May. We would be interested hearing some feedback on your first couple times out. Also how your RedArc brake controller is working.

Congrats! Yesterday I took the Jeep and Voyager to Cars and Coffee, Morrisville, NC -- first time towing any distance and at hwy speed...both did great. The Redarc brake controller is really impressive - two modes of operation (on road / off road for progressive (proportional braking) or 100% at your preset number for off road. I've attached a few pics of the only visible part of the controller mounted in the Jeep (small knob) The rest is tucked away. Be sure to check your vehicle as there may be an wire harness adapter for plug and play install (pic below for the Jeep kit). Also had an opportunity to test out the solar in about 80% sun - brought in 11 amps with the two 100w panels (one permanent roof mount, one portable). If you have any questions I'd be happy to help. Good luck with your build!

This is really impressive gear!

Well that took hours -- but dang it was fun! I think instructions would have been useful, but I learned a lot and there's YouTube. I ended up modifying my backmost solar panel mounts to get the panel to tilt down which helped minimize the 270 awning arm from hitting it when it comes around the back. I still need to attach the annex room and 270 awning side walls to make it "1" official full set up. 1st impression of the Walkabout 62" tent --- WOW, this thing is dark and actually feels pretty good with the stock pad! Lots of room! Lots of pockets and clips! Not a fan of the "bendy arms" to support the window awnings -- I mean they work well, but not a fan of the attachment method at the bottom tent frame (an angle drilled hole in the aluminum tent frame). Hopefully I can knock out the rest tomorrow! I'm really impressed!
