215/85/15 tires.. who makes them?

I'm contemplating going back to my stock alloy rims, as they weigh something like half of the current steelies I have on (decreasing my unsprung weight)

That said, I'm also looking for a 215/85/15 tire, but am having problems finding anyone who makes them.

I found goodyear wrangler duratrac, are there any other options for all-terrain or mud terrain tires? The only other one I've found is interco's super swampers.. not something I'd drive everyday on the street.

thanks!

Try 31x9.5-15 0r 33x9.5-15... stock hight on a first gen trooper will will not fit either one, but a torsion crank and leaf lift without a ball joint flip you'll fit 31" but you'll loose a lot of power without re-gearing. I went with 30x9.5 with a lift on a pre-fist gen (84-86) 2.3 liter and was comfortable as long as my flashers worked. With 15" rims try looking for tires in inches makes it a bit easier.

That's a very odd tire size! Is that the stock size? My 1990 Montero came from the factory with 235/75/15s, which is an extremely common tire size (or at least it was. I ran 235/75/15s on my 2wd Ford Ranger as well.)

Anyway, if my math is correct: 215 x .85 = 182.75 sidewall height, x 2 = 365.5 = total sidewall / 25.4 [mm per inch] = 14.38" tire sidewall + 15" rim = 29.38" diameter tire with a 215mm / 25.4 = 8.46" tire width, right?

So, a 30 x 9.5 x 15 will be pretty darn close, just a little bigger than stock.

There's also the much more common 235/75/15 (235 = 9.25 width and diameter is 28.87" in diameter) which is 3/4" wider and less than 1/2" smaller in diameter (which is less than 1/4" radius = not enough to make a difference in appearance or performance.)

My current tire size is 215/75/15 (not stock), so i was looking for something abit taller. 9.50 inch wheels works out to about 241mm so you're right- about an inch wider. I'm considering it too, thanks.

I may just pick up some 16in alloys from the yard because there are so much more options in the 85 aspect ratio category.

I like the 85 aspect ratio for looks.. but you're completely right about the tire diameters. Decisions!

Thanks!
