Well from everything Ive read the hubs have "0" to do with the 4wd lights since both the wheels and the front axles are normally turning regardless of if it's in 2wd or 4wd.
Probably because you've been using the 4WD. The switches for 4wd and 2wd indicator are in the transfer case. Check the Factory Service Manual. Let me know if you don't know where to download a pdf copy...
