500hp Land Rover 110 Defender. Yes please!

LOL, if you can afford one of his toys, then there are certainly ways to acquire one locally.

When I lived in Singapore we put a twisted kit into a TD5. It really was awesome!

Had to leave it when I moved back to North America since it was too new to import.

Engine change is not even checked for MOT, just that it passes emissions !

So its practically up to the owner to swap the engine to whatever he wishes?
Aint it writen somewhere which engine is allowed and installed?

Nope
Just infrom the DVLA of the engine change. Hence the problems with finding an original 25 year old landy for export to the U.S.

.....regreting the Boston tea party now eh !

yep just write to DVLA stating engine size and type and serial number.....

even if you change petrol to diesel........the emissions test is just XXXX revs on warm engine and test the exhaust gases

Clear and logical emissions standards. A brilliant idea that will never fly here in California!
