I have been watching this build for awhile. I gotta tell ya man you have done a really nice job. It looks really good and is very user friendly. I am looking forward to this winter and seeing where this goes! On another note, it TOTALLY sucks about Zion. I have not been there since I was a kid, but I can definitely relate. Grand canyon is the same way....a ton of commercialism and tourists and their cameras/phones/crappy attitudes.

you're right, we last went to grand canyon in '09 and it was frustrating. the wife and i decided yesterday, no more national parks, not during tourist season anyway. living in las vegas, our trips out of town need to be more scenic, we have enough crowds and tourists here...

Great pics from your trip Diesel. It looks like you had fun with both your girls. I hope to see those bumpers mounted soon. Cheers, Chilli...:)

Wow. Been a while yet again...

Sadly enough I don't have the bumpers built yet, they're all cut out and dressed up in the garage. I'm gonna tack them together this weekend and get everything lined up and I'll finish weld them shortly after that. I haven't done much to the suburban besides building rock sliders and even those aren't done. I've got a small amount of fab work left to finish them then I'll take em off for paint.

I've been collecting parts getting ready to knock out a few items. I've got all my bumper fab parts, including lights, swing out spindles, clevis mounts and a Warn M12000. I bought a welder and wired in some new outlets in the garage so I've been able get more done at home. This weekend I'll be ordering some parts for the interior, stereo, switches, etc...

i hope you made some templates for that front bumper. i might need one for my '79. i really like the design of the sliders. they should be a nice lift point for a high lift if necessary.

cant wait to see where & what you do with the winch front & back

The idea of hitch mounting the winch went out the window when I carried that heavy bastard into my garage from the sidewalk. In 40' I damn near blacked out. If I ever have to carry it through waist deep snow or knee deep mud it'll kill me.

I've been working on the rear bumper the last few days. Got most of it all tacked together. Still need to cut holes for the hitch, shackle mounts and lights. Then move on to the swing outs.

I got some more work done yesterday. The bumper is ready to be welded, minus the swing outs. (I'll add those after mounting the bumper to check for fitment.) I got the hitch and shackle mounts tacked in, light holes cut and got the ends capped off.
