Hey great build man. I love reading about these trucks. One question. What SYE kit did you use for the 241? JB Conversions I guessing?

Not trying to step on any toes but I can answer that. Yes, I know because it looks identical to the jb conversion one that I am running

Ding ding! JB was the only kit I could find. Installed it in my garage, replaced all the other seals in the case while I was at it.

i'm not sure why my posts from tapatalk have that username on them… hmmm…

i got some **** done over the weekend. the sliders are done, painted, tied into the body and all mounted up. they don't make any noise now, it's so nice to not hear that damn banging and rattling.

there are some welds under the truck i'm not proud of, i'm learning.

i also got the front bumper tacked together, i need to move the frame brackets a little then cut the holes for the shackle mounts and lights and fully weld it still. i'll be doing all of that over at my shop, since mounting on the truck involves removing all of the rivets for the front body mount/leaf spring mount. the frame brackets go about 8" back into the frame so all of those rivets have to go, so i picked up a set of B52s. if i'm doing all the work to mount a set i might as well, right?

So the rocker sliders are going to be tied to the body? I thought there was noise transferred from the frame to the body.
Get that worked out? Nice work !

PMA4X4 did his the opposite way, solid mounted to the body and poly bushings at the frame end. He said his transferred too much vibration and noise. Mine are solid at the frame with rubber (not poly, since my body mounts are rubber) bushings at the body end and the truck feels really good, really solid. He and I talked about it and figure that I stumbled onto the best way of doing it.

Awesome , your burb looks great ! Your bumpers reminds me of mine .

I've got pics of yours saved on my laptop, among others. I drew inspiration from several different ones. Thanks!

we got the front bumper all welded up, knocked out all the rivets and trimmed the front bushings so we could get the B52s mounted. once they were bolted in place i welded them to the frame so I can remove the bumper without disassembling everything. .

doing a test fit to get it lined up and mark the bolt holes.

then Sunday, here at my house, i sanded down all the welds on the outside. i still need to install the shackle mounts and build the winch mount. both will take place this week/next weekend.

What a great build. I wish I had the fabrication skills you have.
Thanks but I'm not a fabricator, I'm guessing my way through this. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic, most of the ideas I've put to use here are things I've seen on machines built to take a beating. That's why everything on my truck is simple and strong, utilitarian.

Had me fooled.
