95 Montero SR trade

I have a 95 SR with 200k. Runs great but the heater core started leaking. This was a second car and was barely being driven, I was going to let my 16 yr. old drive it but without heat and defrost that's not going to work. I would be willing to trade for a good running Honda or Toyota car. Timing belt was done at 170k, new tie rods, pitman and idler arm. Kyb gas shocks, 10k on BFG ATs. New radiator at 166k. I'd rather see this go to a SR enthusiast that sell it on Craigslist. The heater core has been bypassed and its ready to drive, the ac still works.

you sure it's the core? It could just be the rubber hoses between the firewall and the core. Much easier to fix than the core itself.

I started taking the dash apart to see if it was something else. I don't see the hoses your talking about any heads up would be great.

under the hood. hoses from engine to core.
Iirc, it's on the inside where the metal tubes come in from the engine bay and are visible from the driver side... But perhaps its a good question to ask the guys on 4x4wire's mitsu 4x4 tech forum instead... Sorry I don't have better info for you...

also, be sure to download the FSM from mitsubishilinks.com

I took the dash off and found the hoses, they just coupled the copper pipes to the heater core. That was where it was leaking from. Not alot of fun trying to replace them. Running a pressure test now then put the dash back on. Thanks for the heads up when I looked at the diagrams it looked like it was hard pipe from the core out the firewall.
