You have fake tiles on your floor, we have fake marble on ours... I see a pattern! Sure looks and works good tho, don't it? :D

I figured it was gonna get trashed and need replacing in a couple of years anyways. So cheap is the only way to go for me!! And I'm right proud of the way it looks. Got the camper back in the truck last night and am planning on taking it out this weekend if the weather will cooperate.

Nice build! I absolutely love those OBS Fords. I passed up the opportunity many times to buy one in the 2000's and now there doesn't seem like any good ones are left around here. Keep the pics coming.

Thanks Watt! They are still around, but most are getting some miles on them. I got really lucky with mine. I still can't believe I own it. I lusted after it for years before I got it bought. No regrets. I'm getting close to finishing up with my spring planting. When I do get done....that slide in is getting tied to my truck and me and it are gonna spend some quality time!!! And I'll post pics!

So we had some rain out at the farm today. Since spring wheat, rye, and soybeans are behind me now - I was able to steal some time. The wife and I have been chomping all spring to get the camper in the truck and hit the river. So Sunday we took an hour and fished and waded a bit. It was fun, and the dogs enjoyed it. But, It was short lived. I was tired and the camper wasn't with us, so we cut the day short and headed home. But today that has changed. I started by building my track to help center the camper. The track had to be light, removable, and strong. So I bought some treated 2x4's and this is what I came up with..... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433814274.369285.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1433814289.536035.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1433814301.935669.jpg It's super simple and it worked great! When I loaded the camper it was within an inch of dead center right off the bat! I'm not sure about everyone else's campers, but mine will shift and move around a bit when standing on its jacks. The truck just needs to be close and the track will move the camper around just enough to keep it in line. I'm really happy.
The other thing I did was change the front anchor points from turn buckles to mini chain boomers. Since I anchor on the inside- it's hard to reach turnbuckles in the front corners. I was looking for something easy. Boomers are easy. Just pull down and it's done. I just had to make sure they aren't too tight, and they aren't. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433814593.587612.jpg
I also recently had a birthday- and my awesome wife bought me a fire pit that runs off propane. No more chasing firewood! So long as I have gas. According to her I always have gas. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433814686.340650.jpg I also just received my new spindle for adding a better swing out tire carrier and also a storage box. I'm wanting something similar to SLO_F250's setup. I didn't take a pic of the spindle as its wrapped up really tight in protective foam. And I should get my solar system on Wednesday. I ordered a 150 watt kit from SolarBlvd out in Cali. It'll be so nice not to have to worry about a re-charge anymore. And with that system I'll want to upgrade to a bunch of 12vpower ports and a new 12v fridge. Mine is crap and I can't wait to throw it away. So much more I want to do. Oh well. One day at a time. I just need to load up the little woman and use what I got in the meantime. Since she's a teacher- today was her last day of work till August. I'm super stoked to get the camper in the woods any day. I'll update as soon as we get there. Wow, That's a lot of space between the camper and the bed. Putting my Keystone in the back left zero clearance.

I don't follow. Where are you talking about exactly? It's the only camper I've ever had so if it doesn't fit well I wouldn't know the difference.

Pappa- I looked back at the pics I posted. The pic of the turnbuckle was taken from the floor of the truck bed looking up. It made the gap look huge! But it's not. You can't get your hand between the camper and the bed rails, or bed front, or anywhere for that matter. I can get my fingers through the gap- but my palm is too thick. It's just the camera angle I guess.

I was talking about the space where the turnbuckle is. My Keystone had bump-outs that used every square inch of space. No room for error when loading. It was a 1988; I was amazed at how tight it fit on my 1992.

I see. Yeah my Jayco can be all over the place. I think it looks fine on the truck- but it's definitely not tight. Probably a good thing as much as I take it off and on the truck. I'm getting pretty efficient. I can have it out and on its base in about twenty minutes and that includes setting the tool box back in the truck.

Loading and unloading my big hardside was mission impossible. It took a year off my life every time. I was glad to see it go. Hanging out by the river sounds like a good time!

Nice Seabass! If you were closer I'd lend a hand. Looking like you'll be ready for summer in no time.

Thanks R3. I've been messing with some grass hay all week. I'm hoping tomorrow I can find time to mount the panel if nothing else. It's gonna be a job just figuring out how to get the wires fished down to the batteries. Luckily, though, I'm a farmer and dealing with stupid hard stuff is my specialty!
