City...well, I do live in the city, yes. I have to drive 4+ hours to get to anything halfway decent and then its just miles of dirt road and forest.

Honestly, if it wasn't for family and my awesome job, I would pack up and move to your area tomorrow.

Again, I envy you.

Kilchis Falls, via Wolf Creek Rd. in a blur.

That is quite the hall to get to where the fun lies. We really do have some great, scenic places to see here out West. I live in the middle of the Willamette Valley where it is 1+ hours to the Pacific Ocean, 45 minutes to the Cascade Mountains, 1.5+ hours to Mt. Hood, 1+ hour to PDX, 2+ hours to the high desert of Central Oregon. It is awesome Many more places to see...

Great pics, man. Looks like a ton of fun.

Hey hey! Nice to see you on here Andy. Thanks for the compliment. My girlfriend and I had a blast!

In other news...
My iPhone standard maps are just not cutting it anymore. Throwing me unexpected curveballs and losing service in the mountains constantly were no fun. I have begun the daunting task of lining up a GPS, as well as a satellite tracking device for my Jeep. So far I have come up with these:
Delorme Earthmate PN-60W GPS
Delorme Earthmate or SPOT Device.

I travel with an iPhone 4s, as well as an iPad 2 so from what i've read, you can link IOS devices now with the Delorme inReach. Hmm...

Just a mount that I usually use. I had my panniers on and wanted to try something new. If you watch at the very end, the suction cup let go....the bike stopped, the suction kept going. lol!

So whats next with your Jeep?

I've done that myself unfortunately, but never has the suction cup come undone when it use. Good thing you didn't lose it while cruising on the road. Is that an HD Hero or HD Hero 2?

Ah, what's next you ask? A sophisticated GPS, coupled with a 2-way satellite communicator. After reading reviews and articles all day yesterday, I think I have narrowed it down to Delorme Earthmate PN-60 as a GPS, and a Delorme inReach for smartphone devices (IOS Apple).

Well now that I am job-less for the rest of the month, I have had some time on my hands and decided to pass some time today. I was having two problems with my RTT ladder; locking mechanism and comfort.

The ladder is telescopic, which is quite neat, but sometimes does not want to cooperate. One side would lock in fine, and the other would not as your body weight applies itself getting into the tent. The ladder still supported my beautiful girlfriend and I, but I was not satisfied. Today, I finally found the right height, as well an angle, for the ladder to productively stand.

With the top rung, support by an actual rung that locks correctly, I have found my solution! I went up the ladder about five times or so, all with the 150 pounds of me, and it did what it was actually suppose to!

Man oh man, so as much I love the RTT, getting up the ladder was PITA without sandals on. The ladder is just brutal on the feet, and it is very uncomfortable going up without some sort of shoe/sandal. I had no problem wearing sandals up to the living quarters, but after the last trip, I noticed it was starting to get a little bit more messy in the RTT than I like. My solution? $7 foam pipe insulation. Ah, now my feet, without sandals, will comfortably climb up the ladder to my penthouse!

Thanks. I hear you, but once you do find that time, get lost. Not a whole lot can beat the feeling of being so secluded from civilization.
