A few pics from my move to Alaska...

I moved from New Mexico to Alaska. We left New Mexico and went to Arizona, then Cali, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Crossed over into Calgary then Edmonton and hit the Yukon and Alcan highways. There were 2 adults, 3 kids and a cat loaded into the FJ Cruiser. Not a traditional expedition but it sure was one heck of a trip. We left on Oct 15 and arrived 8 Nov. I bought my FJC on 3 Jun 08 with 3 miles on it, now 6 months later it has almost 22,000 on it. I love my FJ. Hope you enjoy the pics. We were blessed to see such beauty. http://www.flickr.com/photos/33791926@N08/sets/72157611698267110/show/

I drove the AlCan 4 times. The 1st was also paid for by the USAF in May 1995 from Albuquerque to Anchorage.

Feb 1999 from Anchorage to San Antonio.
Apr 1999 San Antonio to Juneau AK via Anchorage. (Photo below)
Sep 2002 Juneau AK to my present home in Colorado

Your pics brings back very good memories. For those folks that haven't driven that road, it's unbelievable how long it is and how many days you see the same thing over and over again. I am not belitting it at all. It's huge, majestic, sparce, and loads of other attributes I could throw at it.

It is my opinion that everyone should visit Alaska once in their life time!

I also really enjoyed the pictures! My wife and I made the round trip from Tennessee to Fairbanks, Anchorage, and other parts of AK in June, July and Aug 2008. We covered 11,000 miles and had a wonderful time. There's so much difference in the country after the snow starts!

We got our camper in Minn on the way back home and have it operational on the truck now. We're going back to AK next summer for more camping, if all goes as planned!

Yes, everyone should make that trip in their lifetime, and the sooner the better.

Our last little trip was to Colorado and back in November, mostly on back roads. I posted a few photos here (and am apparently not allowed to post them again in this reply)

Good old Uncle Sam can't make up his mind on where he wants me...I just made this move from New Mexico to Alaska in Nov and he decided to send me to San Antonio, Texas in March. So I made the drive from Fairbanks, Alaska to San Antonio in the middle of March. I will be making the drive back home around the middle of September. Talk about putting some miles on the Toyota FJ Cruiser :Wow1: I am looking forward to the return trip home since it will be during the fall. The previous two trips were completely covered in snow and ice. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and be perfect for me.
