Hi Max, Thanks for the inspiration from your thread to get out to see some of these areas that I've never been.
I start back to work this morning, Sunday, for 4 shifts and have next weekend off. I may be out of town that weekend instead of the next one like planned though.
If you are out and about, be careful of going up on White Mountain. They graded the road and there is something that was brought up because of that or someone dumped something up there. I passed a mini van with a flat, I got a flat, and a guy who stopped to help me had one while we were changing mine. I had a fun time when mine went. I was running about 45-50mph at the time. I had plans to get new tires put on next week. I guess I'll be doing it early.

where on white mountain did you encounter this? I go up there once a month or so.

I was already back when i saw your PM, ended up going through dubois and to lander, then over the louis lake road to south pass and back to rock springs. it was very busy up there.

Hi Herm, I would say it was approx 3-4 miles up from Green River. They graded the road and in it looks like they added new dirt and gravel in some places to build up some spots in the road. It's a bit soft in places. I don't know what I actually hit to get the tire to start going flat, but my tires can lose a fair amount of air without me realizing that they are low and with the road being soft, I probably ran some distance with it low before it blew apart. I'm not to unhappy as they are rated at 40,000 mile tires and my tire guy told me to look to getting closer to 35,000 with all the dirt roads and going to Moab that I do. I just turned over 47,600 miles on them.
Glad you liked the report. It's beautiful up there. If you'd like to get together let me know. I'm trying to get together with Max to probably head up that way somewhere and we can get together sometime too. I'm starting to have days off on the weekends for a bit now.
It was a few years ago that I was looking for a scenic trip to take and I saw some trips on the web. I contacted a lady at the chamber of commerce in Pinedale and she recommended a couple of drives. The one I ended up doing was going up through Cora and over Union Pass. I then drove to Dubois and fueled up, looked around and ate. I left there and went to Jackson and then back down. First time in the Dubois area. It was really nice.
