A narrow strip of land called "Baja California"

That peninsula will always be fun to travel, especially when you can overland from the gulf coast to the pacific coast with some beautiful scenery and interesting remote drives. We crossed the border in Mexicali, lunch and gas in San Felipe then off to Gonzaga bay for our first night in Baja, the following day we headed South with the mandatory stop at Coco's and off to "Calamajue canyon" it is an A+ locale complete with a large calcite formation on the side of a slope created by a soda spring, we finish that day in Bahia de los Angeles. The next two days were spent at BOLA hiking, visiting pictograph sites and old missions. Continuing south along the Sea of Cortez we stopped for lunch at Playa San Rafael then a visit to a wonderful cave full of ancient art and finish the day in Guerrero Negro. The following morning off to Bahia Asuncion, the pacific ocean! and a most rewarding drive along the coast bluff down to Punta Abreojos and finish the day in San Ignacio. Whales at the lagoons in April? YES.. a most rewarding experience (bucket list item..check) After that, visits to Mulege and Bahia Concepcion were a couple of our expedition members were finally able to put their kayaks in the water.

those photos look awesome. Crazy that the whales are right up to your kayaks

Thank you for the compliments and forgiveness. The whales are approached by a hire guide and boat they do not allow kayaks, I will create a photo bucket account soon.
