Were the OEM shocks gas charged? I figured they'd just be emulsion monotubes.

I'd be surprised if the shocks I removed were OEM. I don't remember for sure, but I think I may have put new ones on when I added a leaf to the springs in the mid-80's. I could not find any manufacturer's name on the old ones. But the markings and numbers I did find led me to believe that they might have been Ranchos. I searched for the numbers in Rancho's database last week, but could not find anything...not surprising given their age. I know the steering stabilizer is a Rancho that I installed many years ago.
