A whole new concept: An Overglobe Vehicle....

Funny, I was just thinking about this vehicle the other day. I remember reading about it many years ago, and was wondering if the guy ever took it anywhere...

Looks like he sure did.

Though I'm sure it would take quite a beating in some rough seas, that would scare the hell out of me!

... I'd love to see some footage of it off-road as well :)

I remember reading about this rig in Car and Driver in the 1990s. I think it was a husband/wife team, but there was a messy divorce. In fact, I just Googled it and it says it was sold in 1999 for $200,000 as part of a divorce auction. (Source: Popular Mechanics)

... I so sincerely hope that it's not just sitting in a storage unit somewhere, lol.

got to love amphibious rigs and it's always been on my mind about building a small one....to be able to drive off a boat ramp into the water would be a lot of fun.

That rig is just over the top and it must of been some rocky on some of those trips across the water.

In the video he claims to be the first car through the Panama Canal. Helen & Frank Schreider claimed they piloted their amphibious Jeep through the Canal in their books, La Tortuga and 20,000 Miles South, both published in 1957.
