Lucky7, next time I come up to visit family, we need to hook up and go shooting in some of these places together

I've done one trip shooting around the Fisher Body and a few other places, but always wanted to go into the Train Station

This old house was still loaded with furniture. Of course we didnt take anything, just use them as props. Even the book was left in the house

She was the one who found the house, got approval for us to be in it from the property owners and set up the entire shoot. She just hires me to take the photos

Thanks! I haven't been inside the buildings in a few years. As I understand it, most of them are pretty heavily locked-down at this point. I'm not quite sure what is open these days.

I think I took this one off the roof of the Wurlitzer bldg., though I can't quite remember.

I guess this could qualify. I had a recent opportunity to shoot at a salvage yard. He has quite a few newer models but he also had some old stuff around.

Actually, it was the very heavy snowfall we got this past winter that finally collapsed the roof and nearly collapsed the whole cabin. When i was there last fall it still looked pretty good.

Last summer I went to the old town site of Carbon, Wyoming, which is the name sake of Carbon county. My great-great grandparents settled in Carbon after arriving from England in their early 20s to work in the local coal mines. The short of is that the town later burned down, and the Union Pacific moved the rail line further north so the town was abandoned. All that is there is today are some foundations and the cemetary, which I have some ansestors burried there.

The Carbon cemetary is what you'd think of as a "Boot Hill," as it does sit around a hill. Below is a picture of a sign at the enterance, and some of the markers were litterally piles of rocks.
