Early morning light near Brouse, BC a few days ago. Trying for the "Tom Sheppard" look, (a la his book "Quiet for a Tuesday" where he sneaks his rig into almost every landscape shot). Not sure I made it but it was fun setting it up....
"Remains of pouring and cooling building #502a at the Amotol Munitions Plant (WWI) where 6-inch shells were filled with a 50/50 mix of TNT and ammonium nitrate. The construction and layout of the building looks a bit odd with lots of thick concrete. This was done to direct the force of any accidental explosions more ‘up’ instead of ‘out’ thereby helping to protect the integrity of the surrounding plant buildings. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/amatol-ghost-town
