LR humor.. To me at least!

I don't care what you say" this thread is great humor, I love it! bicker, bicker, this truck stinks, this one is better, ha, ha, ho, ho, heck I don't even own a LR, I have a Ford Ranger, now is it better than 150,250??? This thread is dumb.
I've had my rover for almost 4 weeks now. I've been doing some work on it. I bought it converted to coils already. The only issue i have had so far is a dead starter and replacing the underhood fuse box. get rid of the air springs and all the problems are gone. they are easy to work on.
the 1999 and on with Bosch fuel injection are better, in my opinion. The axles are also stronger on the later models with front and rear traction control. The 4.6 has lots of power, the transmission is extremely smooth, and the gas mileage is pretty good on the highway. i've been getting 18-20 with cruise control on. It has more then enough power to pass without even kicking down a gear.
if you can't turn a wrench, be expected to pay dearly. if you can, its not much different then anything else out there. the parts are a little more expensive, but what do you expect from a European hand built vehicle.
of you who are whining about what a piece of crap they are, how many of you have actually owned one?
i've taken mine out and played in the dirt a little, it works great and rides great compared to all the jeeps i've owned.
all you need to do is spend some time maintaining it, and it will work fine. you have to do that to any vehicle. I have a 1989 Mercedes Benz in mint condition with 230000 miles on it. Still runs like a swiss watch. Spend the money and take care of the vehicle and it will last perfectly.

i'll bring it this thread back from the dead by saying that my '02 westminster has 200,xxx miles on it and has had the air springs replaced once with arnott gen III's, hvac panel replaced because the screen was failing, and 2 blend motors. thats it... ive owned it 3 years now... air suspension has no leaks and ive even programmed a higher lift setting which is 1.5" over extended height. now i don't go crazy with offroading (maybe once a month to go camping or something), but its hard to ignore the mileage with so few problems... I also had an '03 disco se7. it was also a great truck but did have recurring headgasket issues. i suspect it overheated at some point... It also had the 4.6 so that point is moot...Both good trucks, one has air suspension. you take the air suspension off, you may as well grab a disco. (i actually prefer the stepped roof of a disco) and a message to Jack: do you talk this way to people in person? you must have alot of friends... I can only assume its the internet that gives you this tough guy persona and wisdom... Apart from your constant

I still have mine and still love it. It is heavily modified now running 33 inch tires. I also just bought a 2006 LR3 that my wife is driving. It is a great vehicle as well, but even heavier and surprisingly worse gas mileage. I am not giving up my P38.
I just bought another P38 with my buddy for the RockRover bumperse and we are building a rear tire carrier next week for my truck.
Be prepared to fix all the common problems that you will find on rangerovers.net. All the info is out there. If you can't work on the truck yourself, then run away. But if you are willing to wrench on it, it isn't difficult.

Sorry for not quoting this earlier... What springs and shocks were used and what snorkel was used and how did you route it. It looks really clean. I look forward to doing this to mine.
