That's gotta feel good! Looks pretty straight.

Mostly straight..:sombrero: got a few warbly gremlins in some of the portions I added when we changed course. Planning to 'fixture' them away with tie downs etc :coffeedrink:

A little off topic but how does the 550 seating fit your 6'7" frame, any mods to the seating?

thanks,

Brian (also a tall guy)

Any updates? :)

A bit. I've been pretty bogged down in the details of how to get everything, plumbing, wiring, where it needs to be and trying to fine tune the new lift guide mechanism (I got rid of the accurides). Real world, how does this fit is very different than a drawing where I say this will go here :) My AC didnt fit at all, so close, but the tiny foot tabs made it impossible to get in and I had to increase the opening a bit. Good news is if this unit doesn't work out, I made the space such that it would easily accommodate one of the dometic units.

Windows are in

And the basic electrical system is in

Working on getting the solar panel mounts in currently and the system for passing the wires through the ceiling. Stealing the Ideas of Idasho and LeishaShannon (they both came up with the same system :). Mine additionally has to pass through my safari roof in one of the dividers, so Ive epoxied in a piece of schedule 80 1" PVC that will then get sealed with glass. Water proof box on top with cable glands on the side .75" off the surface. So my roof would have to flood and overwhelm the cable glands to leak. I hope :)

Great build. What was your source for the transonite panels? They seem like they might be a better option than the carbon core honeycomb panels I have used in the past. Thanks

We got the panels as overage from another job. They are really, really expensive to purchase in small quantities. Check out Victorians panels at totalcomposites.com
Transonite is pultruded on a big machine, really different process than a regular composite panel, so they don't like to make small quantities due to how they are made.

Voila!!

Looks weird as Sh#$ without the flatbed and storage lockers in yet, but we are on the truck.

getting it on was exciting. My kubota has plenty of juice for lifting it, but the forks are just too narrow. A friend of ours owns a crane company so came in to help.

The subframe it is sitting on is just temporary. Eventually it will have an 18" tall full size aluminum bottom locker that will house all the water tanks, espar, camp gear and surfboards. Keeping all the weight down very low. That will set on a very, very low to the frame flatbed with deep wheel wells to accomodate the 41s. We wanted to keep our COG as low as possible, so all of our heavy stuff lives underneath the camper.

Still unsure of the color choice, but its your party :sombrero:

Have you sorted out the lift hardware and mechanism?

Can you elaborate on any of that, and how its working out?

Thanks
