We took our trailer to Ridgway state park (about 90 miles) and towing is so effortless. Our trailer is 22' and about 5000 lbs and you can barely feel there's a trailer attached. We went to the top of owl creek pass to do some hiking and see the colors as well. I used an adapter for the tt-30 outlet to charge at 24 amps/120 volts which is slow, but enough to get enough charge to get home again without a charging stop.

Did you manage to do the 180 mile round trip without charging?

The one nice thing with an EV is there is electricity a lot more places than there is gas so if you have permission and the ability and adaptors to hook up to it you have a fill station almost anywhere.

There are several EV’s now that have driven to Tuktoyaktuk by using campground and or welding outlets to fuel the trip. If I had the time I’d love to take my Lightning there just to see if I could do it.

My son and I went to Telluride to do the via ferrata route, and it was a blast! (If you're not afraid of heights!) We went over last dollar road on the way home which is a mild 4x4 route but a bit chewed up from people driving it when it was muddy, and there was a bit of snow in the woods after the top of the pass. Still had 15% charge left after about 300 miles which was nice.View attachment 859983

You can barely see the vehicles parked at one of the left switchbacks:

The most intimidating (and fun!) part:

Dam you are a STUD and building your son to be like you. Congratulations on you using your vehicle to get out and explore. Most people they just drive I like you like to get out with my vehicle so I can HIKE areas that are not easily accessible.
