While I will never own one (too rich for me), they did an incredible job. That thing is beautiful.

AEV starts with a four-door JK Wrangler
then stretches the wheelbase 23 inches to 139 inches.
Overall vehicle length is up 30 inches to 216 inches
Interior dimensions of the truck bed are 61”L x 60”W
Wrangler width is unchanged at 74 inches

2012 Dodge Power Wagon dimensions:
wheelbase 149 inches
overall length 238 inches
Interior bed length 76"L x 66"W
width 79 inches

So the Power Wagon is 5 inches wider and 22 inches longer than the AEV Brute, on a 10 inch longer wheelbase. Its bed is 15 inches longer. Payload of the Power Wagon is an expedition-friendly 2200 lbs.

Given the expected high price of the AEV Brute Double Cab, it might be easier and cheaper to do some body work on the Power Wagon to make it shorter, instead of stretching the Jeep into a larger vehicle. Reduce the length of the wheelbase by 10 inches, modify the truck bed by the same length to fit, and you're done. Food for thought...

Update: Here's what a Jeep/Power Wagon combination looks like

The Power Wagon comes with a Hemi V8 standard. If you have to have a diesel, you could do the same sorts of mods, starting with the Ram 2500 4x4 with Cummins 6.7L diesel.

AEV says production of the Brute Double Cab will start in mid 2012. It doesn't look like this Brute will be available as a kit.

Good thing I didn't bid on that low mileage 2011 Rubicon 4 door in the insurance auction today. It would have been perfect for a brute kit.

Still can't make the PW narrower though, Chip. That, along with the wheelbase/breakover/departure is what trips me up in the PW offroad.

Like I told Dendy, I'm playing Lotto and will eventually build one of these with a diesel.

Another comparison

AEV Brute Double Cab
wheelbase 139 inches
overall length 216 inches
Interior bed length 61"L x 60"W
width 74 inches, maybe wider

Toyota Tacoma Double Cab
wheelbase 127 inches
overall length 208 inches
Interior bed length 60"L x 57"W
width 75 inches

The long bed Tacoma is slightly larger than the AEV

Toyota Tacoma Double Cab long bed
wheelbase 141 inches
overall length 221 inches
Interior bed length 73"L x 57"W
width 75 inches

Toyota doesn't offer a V8 in the Tacoma, but there is a factory supercharger kit that increases power to 304 hp and 334 lb.-ft. torque (from the V6's standard 236 hp and 266 lb.-ft.)

The Tacoma is the better comparison of the two, but really not a good comparison.

The Land Rover 130 seems to be a better comparison. Solid axle at least.

What about a Dakota Quad/Crew cab? They come with a V8. The earlier models are a bit narrower, but for 2011:

wheelbase 131.3 inches
overall length 218.5 inches
Interior bed 64.9L x 59.6"W
width 76.4 inches

Thanks, Ted_Z! The 2011 Dakota 4 door with 4.7L V8 and 4x4 costs about $33K, and there are plenty of dealer discounts.

Since the Brute Double Cab will probably cost more than $80K, buying a Dakota will leave you with lots of cash for a solid front axle swap. The early Dana 44 from the first Bronco or 1970s F150s are supposed to be close to the right width to fit the Dakota.

You could spend a little more for a custom 7 slot Jeep grille!
