I believe that you are correct in your assessment.

You could always do as I did, that being to replace the leafs with a 5 link coil setup.

I am very interested in this system of support for the normal suspension, which can improve your driving on road and offroad tracks without much complication and would be relatively cheap
Where exactly is it free in its upper or lower part

The lower part is free; that black thing is a plastic cup. Daystar was the first company to provide them, but now there are many others.

I think a HD version made with larger stronger air bag and a welded steel cup of appropriate thickness would be just the ticket for this. There when you need it but with unlimited articulation, because the cup is not attached to the bag.

^ They are primarily for boosting payload temporarily, and heavy duty ones I've seen are rated for up to 150 psi and 7500 lbs of added load.

Best to get appropriate springs if your load is consistent.
