Alaskan Camper Build Up

Cool trip Carlyle! Winter just won’t seem to go away this year. It’s alright, we need the moisture badly. I am anxious to go check out Chaco Canyon someday. Might just hit it on the way back from Expo. Are you going to try to make it to Expo this year?

Not this year, not enough time off work....

Thanks for the update and photos. The rig is looking great!

(I often forget this thread is here, as it is not in the camper section.)

I have that at the top of my list with some wider fender flares.

I have hopes you can find better wheels for the front. I’m concerned with the long term affect those questionable and overly offset wheels are going to have on the front balljoints and wheel bearings. I vote for different wheels and stick with the stock flares.

Too bad you can’t make it to Expo this year. Hopefully, you and I can find some time this summer to meet up. I can’t wait to see your rig. I love that truck!

Anytime you want to meet up Larry is good with me. The wheels I actually like and will work on more heavy duty ball joints when the time comes.

Truck and us cleaned in Gallup. Wind started blowing and hasn't stopped for four days now.

Beginning of the Chuska Range:

Typical Graffiti on most signs:

North rim of Canyon de Chelly:

Spider rock on south rim after a night at the windy campground:

I will make sure I have a guide to go down into the canyon next time, ruins a mile plus are just not the same as close up and personal if you know what I mean.

Windy Chinle:

Wind worse as we proceed north of Chinle:

and now in Cortez for a night and then to Hovenweep and Canyon of the Ancients tomorrow.

Wow, what a build. Sorry to read about the fire. Just a few questions if you don't mind. First, have you put this rig on a scale ? 2nd, what kind of milage are you getting on the highway with this beast. Beautiful build, i commend you on your choices, and i hope you and the dogs enjoy the heck out of it.

Ya, fires suck... 15k on the scale and milage averages around 12 mph right now.
