Alaskan Camper Build Up

As a side note I have been using a Google Nexus 7 for navigation for awhile and have to say I am impressed. When I have a signal with my cell phone hot spot (Jet pack) I use Google maps with great success. When the signal dries up or we are truly in the boonies we are using Back Country Navigator. Both apps work del, though the Google one is more user friendly so far. The built in Garmin navigation system that came in the truck falls well short of the nexus as a navigation system.

Carl, I am sorry to hear about Luci. My wife always wants me to "go back !" to look again at any photo with your dogs in, them being so cute like teddy bears and all.
Luci was fortunate, I'm certain she had a good life as one of your family.

Thanks, we're going to miss her.

Just got my rear tire rack back from the welder that is now buffed up and ready for some back roads. I'll test for a few weeks, and if all is good it will go to the powder coater after that:

Oh, I was fueling up the other day and saw a plumber...

Oil eater.
Not a bad idea on rebuildable shocks, on the other hand I had Bilstein 7100's on the last truck and they started rusting about 24 hours after being installed and were quite pricey. Perhaps there are other alternatives out there.
Speak to Don Thuren. He'd get a kick out of valving some Kings for your application. He offers a good price on four.

Any great solutions on running the wires through the roof?

Well this is whate I did with my cb antenna

Just used a removed my 3rd brake light them with a rat tale file made a cut out big enough for my wire. Then reinstalled my light and sealed the edge and around the wire.

The chassis cab does not have a third light, but I do have clearance lights or a satellite radio antenna I could go through.

Thanks for the heads up and I found a source for 4' sections that I can drill holes in myself

Where did you end up getting the track? I'm considering using something like that for mounting my solar.

I too have been using my Nexus 7 Tablet for navigation and so far have loved it. I did a RAM mount on the dash of my 3500 Ram and it's worked out pretty well.

Hey Scoutman,

The T-tracks ended up coming from Orange Aluminum out of CA. The four foot tacks were quite reasonable priced, they'll do custom lengths too. I went with the shorter ones to save on cost and am putting a small groove in the end of each to keep the track runner lined up. Should have some pictures of it soon.

What Ram mount did you use for your Nexus? I've been using the suction cup mounts by Ram and every time it gets hot in the cab they fall off, even with silicone sealant on the cups. Kind of a PITA if you know what I mean.
