Alaskan Camper Build Up

That's a good deal on the alignment for a vehicle that gets offroad frequently.I didn't know semi shops would work on pick up sized trucks.I hear a lot of good things about running 19.5 wheels and commercial tires for fuel mileage and long wear.Would that work for you?I know they have some commercial offroad tires for 19.5 wheels.I'm just not sure they would have the flex or traction without running them nearly flat for traction.

I ran 19.5's on my last truck and they had great wear, but were not great performers off pavement even with aggressive tread on them. They ran at too high of a psi and were just too stiff, especially in the mud or really loose dirt. I knew these tires and wheel size were going to be a trade off when I bought them. If the next set does not do any better, I'll be looking at Michelin's then, but they only come in a 41" tire if I'm not mistaken for this rim. That would require a lift of some sort.

What 19.5 tires are you refering to i have been looking for some for my truck. I know that you can not air them down i have blown 4-5 beads b/c I was aired down to far the 19.5 rims do not have the safty bead on them to keep the bead on the tire. the lowest I can go down before the bead goes is about 60 psi on the back and 70psi on front

I was running Goodyear G-124's previously. Good tire, can't air down period and are not made to air down as the steel side walls won't tolerate it. The Conti's I'm run at 70-75 psi for highway and around 45 psi off highway/off road. I probably could go a little lower, but I've never popped a bead, nor want to in the boonies without a truck tire shop nearby...

There was a thread on http://www.dieselbombers.com/ about their longevity and better fuel mileage.

http://www.ricksontruckwheels.com/ does conversions and offers different tires.

Outside Oak tables are complete!

Lower rear table is converted from a Thule table that warped and is no longer made. Legs came from an online retailer. All the oak is sealed in a deck sealant.

New tables loading up and ready for the next camping trip!

I need to find a better system to keep them from shifting though. Any thoughts?

New tires are on! I hope these one last longer:

New mounting position for my Nexus 7. My mirror is not bing used, but can't come down because it's full of sensors and a microphone. Now to decide if I need to run a 12 volt outlet up there:

Nice. I ordered a 10' long micro USB with a right angle connector to run up to my cell phone dock that's beside the mirror. You could do similar and just power the USB from behind the dash.

Good luck with the new tires. Hopefully your changes will help this set last longer. My wife loved your new tables and wants me to build a set. Can you send me a link for the hardware you used? Thanks.
