Alaskan

dzzz

My alaskan flatbed camper is about a week from completion. Is very much like a standard alaskan with the cab over filled in. Option-wise it has a big 12v fridge.
I'm psyched, except for the 2000 mile drive to pick it up.

Congratulations!! That's a good looking camper. How long is it? What are you putting it on? Do you have any interior pics? Think about the 2000 miles back getting to camp in it.

I am currently rebuilding a 60's era Alaskan NCO. Would like to eventually buy camper just like you're getting and put it on a Mitsubishi FG 4x4.

Good Luck, Lorn

Please keep us posted on this build, it looks very interesting!

What are you plans for mounting the camper?

More photos would be great.

The first photo was interesting but photo's in the second posting really got my attention. Seeing that it was 12.5 ft long and then the vehicle it's going on.

Please follow up with more when you get it. If you also happen to get exterior photo's with your rig next to a full size pickup that would give perspective.

Very Cool Build

Here's a photo of Keith's truck that has a stretched wheel base like mine. His camper is probably 17-18ft. My camper's a pop-up so it won't be much above the cab when closed.

Bump for a custom camper that is about due to be completed ? ? ?

That's a week camper building time, which is the opposite of dog years :)

I asked for Alaskan Campers to email me some interior pics. I'll post those when I get them. They're 98% done.

One of the two new gas tanks for the truck is too long, so that needs to be cut down a couple inches. The frame was stretched 3 feet, and everything is pretty much put back together. Two 100 gallon fuel tanks are actually quite large. Who knew? :)

lost, but making time
Hi Don,
Yeah, I guess that 'delay' was to be expected :(
Bet you are very excited, though...

Will they be installing the cabin or will you trailer it home to install on the Moggie's flexible mounting ?

200 gallons of fuel ? ? ? WOW ! :Wow1: That should allow you to get far away from it all.

Looking forward to the interior photos. With all that diesel fuel available, were you planning on diesel appliances or staying with LP gas ?

The camper will be put on a pre-installed frame that's attached at the back and spring mounted at the front. There's actually two frames. A small frame behind the cab to hold bikes or whatever. Then the frame that holds the camper.
Heat and hot water is be diesel, but the cooktop is gas. I didn't want to cook with diesel, and I wanted to be able to use an outside gas grill too.

Pics that just arrived:
