Alternative AC option

In pouring over downsizing options from our current X22 that are 4 season capable, I ran across a boutique trailer maker (now I can't remember which one) that specs this unit:

Fresair

Sounds pretty amazing with the reduced energy usage and supposedly non-humidified air, with it still being effective in 80 percent humidity. Anybody running this in their trailer build or van?

Thanks-

"unlike a typical swamp cooler" it is still a swamp cooler.
Swamp coolers have been around for a long time.

90% humidity is when you really need A/C. Like all swamp coolers, this might work ok in dry desert heat, but won’t be very pleasant if you’re actually in humid swampy climates. Why they call them swamp coolers is a mystery. That’s the one place they are useless.

I wonder what unique things they employ to allow it to still be somewhat effective in 80 percent humidity, if anything. We would be traveling 99 percent of the time in lower humidity climates, from the western US, much of BC, to Alaska. Was hoping there was some real world experience to validate these claims.

I was basically against it until I saw the girl turning it on… now I’m thinking… why not spend $1500 on a really small swamp cooler… she looked comfortable!

Bear in mind they make their “low maintenance” claim based on “annual injection pump, return pump, and filter replacements”… how much do you think 2 pumps and a filter cost on a $1500 swamp cooler that is basically 2 pumps and a filter.

I’ve lived in houses with only swamp cooling. They work as long as the air is moving. Once the fan stops or you are out of the flow pattern, you earn the “swamp” part of the name.

I would pass, unless this was used as a fan with the added benefit of evaporative cooling. It might be worth it for that.

However, if you get one, please review!
