Yep, and having used cubic ***-load of both products I can say for sure, Por-15 is way harder to remove than Herculiner. In actuality, there is no removing Por-15 once it dries. It comes off when the skin under it dies and flakes away.

Do you ever feel you have too many projects going on at once?
At least in the past month my house got a new roof, rebuilt chimney and a bunch of other little projects completed. Should keep my wife happy and when she's happy I get to work on the ambo
Quite a few ambo projects going on at the same time as well but they all line up in the master plan! Hahaha!
One thing that drove me crazy were the elephant mirrors. Gone they are!
When I planned the interior I figured I'd start by the front and slowly move back. It's a priority thing really. Need front seats and kids seats before I can start locating the cabinets... And I need to get all the electrical and plumbing in line as well.
First, I built these seat bases to mount my new to me swivel seats. Man I wish I could weld like this but a friend of mine traded his skills for some of my beers. I'm glad how they turned out except I went a bit overkilled with the thickness, they are on the heavy side! Once I'm happy where the seats will mount I'll cut a door between the tracks to store small valuables, electronics, maps... I'm also thinking to get them powder coated.
I cut a few of the mounting tabs and will relocate them further back to better secure the seat to the base and allow better access to the door to be. I also cut the tracks down to 33" which is still plenty of travel. I think you could be 7' tall and still have leg room One thing for sure is that it will be appreciated on the passenger side!
I got a few other projects moving along as well but I'll wait to be further ahead before posting...

The weather wasn't great today so I decided to start mocking my two new fuel tanks.
It'd be easier if I already had my transfer case installed to be certain with the tank's dimension so I just went a bit more conservative for now. This one will be for diesel. Doesn't have to be too big as I won't be using much anyway. The tank in the picture below is 12" wide, 12" tall and 56" long. I made a mistake with the width (writing upside down under the van while measuring made my 17" look like 12"). So after test fitting it I'll increase the width to 16". I'd be tempted to lower the height to 10" for better clearance but as is it's pretty much in line with the muffler, rear axle and where the lower tranny x-member will be.
I'm not sure if Chris or someone with a UJOR tank could PM me their tank's dimension to make sure I'm not completely off the boat!
Next was the Veggie tank behind the rear axle to replace the steel tank that I currently have there. It's quite large and should give me a decent range without hurting too much my off-roading capabilities... This one is 49" long, 31" wide and 16" tall. I could have made it even larger (longer) but I saved some space at the rear of the tank in case I decide to mount a floor accessible storage box...
Both tanks will be made out of aluminum. I'll make a new dual filler neck so I can use the existing filler location.

And I cut off a good 10" from the original length! As is they slide back and forth a good 30", plenty! It won't be that useful on my side but the passenger should really appreciate to be able to avoid that crowded foot well. Bonus is those seats come with extra lap belts so even if you're as far back as possible (where the shoulder belt would be useless) you still have dome protection and it's still legal...
I also like how the base tilts up. It clears room for storing items while camping...

Well, I kinda got distracted with taking a bunch of time off this summer. France is a beautiful country
The Espar heater is almost ready but I decided to finish some more urgent projects. I figured if I wanna drive this thing I should start by installing some front Seats!
Started by completing the floor. The First layer (Dynamat wannabe) was done a while ago along with a couple coats of Por-15.

I'm having a hell of a time posting pictures with Tapacrap these days. Since I don't believe in posts without pictures I'll just say that I finally finished a pretty cool front seats setup that I've never seen done before and I'll try to figure my picture issue.

This part was done earlier but I'm putting back some pictures to show all the steps involved in the new floor covering. First I ripped the old floor and wirebrushed the metal, cleaned it good and put a few coats of Por-15.
Next I removed the old soundproofing material and sanded the vinyl to get rid of the leftover stuff glued on it.
I replaced the old soundproofing material with this closed cell foam since this new one doesn't absorb water. I also covered the entire floor so the doghouse is now very tight.
