The Toyota HiLux Champ. I’m in Thailand now and this one is in the street in front of my apartment.
From 519,000 Thai Baht. That’s just under $16,000 USD!

what's it outfitted like? In terms of options and packages? Power windows? Etc?

be interesting to know. I beleive they can do a $20k to $25k truck here in the states, but there is no appetite to do so as the profit margins are considered too slim

I think not having much in the way of emissions or safety requirements has to help - not to mention many utility vehicles like that are not at all designed for the way vehicles are used in the US - I doubt its much fun to do a 6 hours highway drive in.

Here’s a YouTube review of it here in Thailand, from an Aussie owner.
it is sold as a basic work truck.
my first new truck was a 78 or 79 Toyota pick up. Very basic, no A/C (unheard of in Florida) vinyl bench seat r22 engine. It was a small truck, like the others you could get at the time, Mazda, Mitsubishi… before the Chicken Tax eliminated small trucks. I put 350000 miles on it before a drunk driver hit me and totaled it.
i told my wife, if we move here, we’re buying this truck.
