Another thing, you may want to remove your recovery shackles to prevent theft, noise, and reduced approach angle. And we need pictures worthy of those 35's!!

The lights don't impact cooling at all. If they were going to they would do it at speed, and they don't. When stopped or crawling, the fans are pulling air from every direction. I'm not trying to be rude, but why are all lot your posts always negative?

2 things I noticed here. 1st is that you might want to slowly flex out the rear axle with someone watching before you hit the trail again, the added spacers have pushed the tires further out and increased your chances of cutting them on the fenders. 2nd is you have severely blocked airflow to the radiator with all of those lights, these things tend to run hot without added obstructions, so keep an eye on temps when stopped or going slow and could affect highway driving as well.

Not negative at all, I just have a lot of experience doing this stuff and offering advice that might save your butt in the future, and based on my observations I perceived a few things that might give you problems.

Nope, a friend at a local shop I know did it for $100. Not perfect, but way better than I could have done. He was able to bust it out in just a few hours. I didn't want it perfect because I was going to build a pair of protective cover panels, but since it's decent I'm going to just cover it and the other one in bedliner.

Very cool. Did you do the body work yourself?

I'm about to order the OME springs and torsion bars along with a 2 inch body lift, have the 35's waiting to go on but will wait til spring to install them since the 33x9.50 A/T's are much better in the winter.

Great job. I've always wanted to do something similar. I really need to invest some time in learning some fabrication skills. Welding is something I really want to learn. I'm a fluent Autodesk Inventor user so I can design pretty much anything. Fabricating is something else entirely.

Getting ready for near-90-degree days in Death Valley this weekend. I have been putting off adding a hood scoop to the Montero for a little bit more cooling (after overheating last summer on a run), but I figured I'd better do it before this run.

This rectangular recess was exactly the right size for the scoop.

When I started I was just going to put the scoop on and paint the hood another day, but I decided to finish the job. Scuffed and masked.
