Another teaser! Look what I got! Ambulance finally arrived

Nice choice on the paint.

I've been musing about paint for my van and came to a similar conclusion, when it's time to do it, it'll probably be MAACO sort of mid-grade job. Since my van isn't going to be garaged and the paint will see sun, dirt, wind, rain, and of course the usual desert pin-striping, etc., I prefer to think of the paint job as sort of "temporary". ;-)

I to think the color looks sharp. I could not agree more with both Ozrockrat and Herbie if your going to use your van a top dollar paint job is a waist of cash vans are so big they are going to get scratched if you venture anywhere past the local campground. Not to mention the rear quarter and rocker panel dents and the occasional high lift jack slipping and putting a big gouge in your rear doors. :Wow1: I keep wanting to paint mine but I want to actually use it even more and being white allows me to grab doors from the junkyard and bolt them on when ever one gets rash on it.

Exhaust wrap.

Taking some advice/ideas from BadgerTrek I decided to wrap the up-pipes and downpipe while I was replacing them (see the thread on boost problems for more details). Hopefully it will reduce the heat on the passengers side a bit.

Any progress on this? Very cool project.

Any chance of getting some details on all the exterior doors, i.e. whats behind them?

What's behind the doors???

When I get home this weekend I will take some photos to detail it out for you. Generally really big storage areas. Some accessible from the inside as well as the outside. Plenty of places to put water tanks etc and still have them easily maintainable. Only problem is the missus coming up with ideas on how to fill them????

Sounds familiar. We are looking to downsize from the toyhauler and F350 to something for just the wife and I as my stepson goes full out teenage and loses interest in desert trips and camping. The upside is I will likely get to be an empty nester in my 40s. :wings:

A 4WD van is on the list of options and the potential of an ambulance is awesome. Looking forward to see some of the ambulance projects with tops. Wonder how a pop top will work out.

Thanks for posting. I can think of a lot of equipment, tools, parts that will fit in exterior compartments. I really like the idea of having an awning and actually putting the majority of the kitchen on the exterior.

Thanks
