I find a huge big box in front of the house. Bastiaan is a big fan of us and is employed at Hella. He likes our adventures and said it would be out of the question that we would put those 'old lamps' on the 'new' car. He would handle it.

He did. The 'Hella Jumbo 320 FF' is a very strong bright light yet doesn't consume the batteries to death. Thank you Bastiaan!

Great build, keep it coming....

Also having a headache regarding chairs and table…. Want a decent size but it doesn’t need to fill the back of the truck. Ideally a solution that’s clips to the 1/3 rear door on my troopie would be fantastic…

Cheers
Matt

okay here she goes:

When we arrive in La Paz, we see our car surrounded by overlanders. The dry season is also the high season.

There is not much time for talking during the day. Work is waiting. And we dive in early, so we can wake up early again. This being the shortest days of the year here.
I am getting the relais back in order.

Under the hood we need to replace certain cables.

This is where the second set of batteries are coming.

To prevent the batteries from shifting, I cut some rubber to keep them in place.

One is in, now the second one.

Only French speaking travelers I know off that would travel in a thing like that on Bolivian roads... Just plain crazy. But then again they would only stick to the only few paved highways here, so most likely our paths won´t cross.

This is looking like our house again.

But inside the benches Karin-Marijke has some new ideas.

There will be separators between the compartments.

The saw of our Swiss army knife is working overtime.

Karin-Marijke makes some sort of second level inside a compartment so she can store things more easily.

A coat of paint needs to protect the wood from bending.

The interior in the Landy is beautiful! If I may, I would like to use just this idea with my color scheme and having a double-width bed platform off to the side with a removable middle panel instead. What I would do on the other side, I don't know... But I do want to use wood for the interior of my Scout and paint it.

Hi Coen! Nice to meet you here too!

What a great renovation you're doing on the Cruising Cruiser! :)
Wow, it's getting really nice. I hope you two are doing well.

It's betting better than before

BTW
I stopped the whole idea of the overlanders forum, I have to many ideas but every new idea costs extra time... Sorry about that.
Besides, I think this forum has enough potential for a nice overlanders forum for vehicles :)

Good luck with the whole process!

Great to see your home coming back together. K-M is quite the talented lady! I am sure every change you guys make make to the LC is based on many thousands of miles of "I wish we had a . . . " :)

great to see the inside coming together. where is the refrigerator located what size, is there an inside sink and are you set up to do your cooking inside when necessary?

thanks again for sharing your build. i am at the stage of designing the inside of my build to be as practical as possible. i know most of my activities will be out side but i think i need to be able to cook inside when necessary. thank you again:coffeedrink:

By the way, thank you for using Karin-Marijke's name instead of referring to her as "the wife" or "the GF." That is very telling to me as to how you or someone else feels about the person you love.

I never heard a woman say to her life-long friend, "The husband went off to the store for something." She would say his name, always, or if I didn't know the person very well, she would at least say "MY husband..."

Just wondering if the impersonal thing is a result of cramed-into-ultradense-cities thing or something more sinister (deer in headlights at the coming collective Borg)...
