Anyone have any experience with these (Warn wire rope tension kit)

If you want to tension your wire (or synthetic) rope, pull it out, connect it to tree with a tree saver, put your transmission in neutral, and wind the line in. The weight/rolling resistance of the truck will tension it nicely, and for free.

That mechanism works great for keeping the line spooling evenly when pulling straight. Pull at an angle and your results will vary. That's why it's recommended for the industrial scene. Plus, you get mud and ice in there and you'll get frustrated with it.

You see these on most tilt deck wreckers to keep the line wound on the drum evenly. They aren't constantly in mud and dirt so they serve a great purpose for them. It would be beneficial for that aspect but like others have said it would become more of a burden than a help after it gets mud in it. My suggestion is to save the $100 for a synthetic line.
