Anyone have vinyl flooring instead of carpet?

Hey so how's the flooring working out? How's the heat transfer from the driveline and road noise? How long did it take you to install and put everything back?

Thanks!

Any way you could take a shot of it completed from a little further away? I want to get an idea of the overall look of the interior with it installed. I used to hate vinyl flooring but the idea has been growing on me due to the thousands of grains of sand that have permanently embedded themselves in my carpet and lovely red mud stains. How thick is the material? Ive worn through several floor mats due to shifting and think this would be a good solution to all problems.

You should like it.
As mentioned earlier, all FJ Cruisers come this way.

No worries about carpet stains, water, pop, ect getting it soggy.
You might look into some type of rubber floormat now to go over that can contain the rain water that comes off of your shoes when you get into the rig.

I hate carpet in a rig that sees off road use.

Looks good.

I almost went this route, but then decided to have the floor pan Line-X'd instead........I also hate carpet in any rig that's going to be leaving the pavement on a regular basis.

Gotta hate when things like this happen.....you'll be glad that carpet's long gone :D!

I plan to pull my carpet out and simply spray bedliner directly onto the top of it (I have a sprayer), then reinstall. Perfectly molded, all the noise and heat protection is retained.... and far more durable than vinyl. I might even add a few ridges to contain water.

I like it so far. Definitely a job for a really hot summer day. Makes for easy cutting and shaping of the vinyl. I also have weathertech floor liners in the front. I mentioned a while back of plans to strip the little use-less jump seats and such and fabricate my own platform. Well that project is almost done. I have the steel frame welded up and am looking forward to riveting an aluminum skin to the frame. There are two "lid"s built in so I can access under the platform. This will be for secure storage of firearms and a radio compartment. Pics will be coming soon, I'm just busy with work!
