Anyone having trouble getting ahold of Proffitt's?

Good morning everyone!

I spoke with John at Proffitt's in Colorado yesterday and am going to be sending my truck off to them for a full-blown build. Since talking with them I have tried several times to get ahold of them with no luck. Just wondering if this is the MO for the shopas they are a little "mom and pop" type of setup, or if they are out of town for something. I know they were recently acquired by a Utah company, but my understanding was that they were going to still have a shop in Colorado. If anyone knows anything about them please post up-I have a truck coming next week to take my 40 out that way!

Thanks!

Ahhh-forgot all about that!

Dan Mick had said something about it last week when week when we were out there as well, and I completely spaced it. I'm excited to work with them as they look like they turn out some incredible work!

Thanks!

I live about 10 minutes from thier shop, I could go down and see if anybody is home if you want, I need to check out Johns new truck and get some prices on a lift anyway. They do awesome things to Toyotas and its always cool to stop by and see what they are working on.

Strega-

I might take you up on that if I don't get anyone the next few days. I just want to make sure there's someone there when my beloved truck shows up:coffeedrink:

I know it's not popular with the purist, but I'm going to do a 6.1 motor swap, auto trans, lockers, "streetable" 4-link suspension system, and a slug of other stuff. The truck is in great shape, I am just wanting to build it up into something that will be great on the trails and backroads of Moab and Colorado. It should be a fun little build, and I can't wait to see the final product!

Thanks again!

No problem, Just let me know. Of course you could just drop it off at my house, I always wanted a 40 to play with :sombrero:

Proffitt's also just got bought by the Larry H. Miller group here in Utah, so that might be causing some delays as well.

John told me about the buyout yesterday, but he didn't indicate any slow down as far as production or facilities. It sounded like they were going to keep the shop in Colorado, and open another location in Utah. My plan is to send my truck to the Colorado location, as it is the closest to me.

I tried a couple more times today, and just got the machine with the hours of operation. I'll give them a shout again tomorrow and see if I have any luck. I'm normally super laid back about this kind of thing, but I have a truck coming to pick up my FJ and deliver it out there the end of next week, and I just want to make sure that that will work for them on their end...

Thanks for the reply expeditionswest! They come highly recommended, and the few trucks that I have come across that were lucky enough to have shop time there were incredible! I'm gonna just tell my trucker to plan on getting the truck out there, even if I can't get ahold of them, and assume that everyone is just going nuts getting ready for SEMA. I wish I could head out there this year, but I've burnt up all of my vacation in Moab. I definitely DON'T regret the trip though!

Maybe next year...

I tried them Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Saturday this last week and just ended up with the machine every time. I'm hoping to catch them the first part of this week before my truck leaves. Post up if anyone gets through to them-It'd be good to hear it's just me!

Thanks!

Wow....Wonder what LHM are up to?

:coffee:

Greg Miller is a Land Cruiser enthusiast and a long time customer of Proffits. They are opening a location in Tooele to help relieve the backlog of projects they have in Colorado and replicate their restoration and build services. Both he and Jeremiah are great businessman (and great guys on a personal level too), it will be neat to see how it comes together.

Met John (and wife) Proffitt's Ops Manager in Utah, and I guess he is moving out here in the next couple months. They were house hunting. Be very cool to have a shop like that here locally.
