Anyone use all-pro leafs?

I am about ready to throw down a rather large (to me) chunk of money on a new suspension setup. I am getting SAW 2.0 and possibly rear all-pro leaf springs but i cant find much info on them. They say 3" springs and knowing that i can only crank the front up around 2.5" i dont want it looking like a hot rod. Has anyone ever used SAW and 3" all pro rear springs? Are the rear leafs any good? The main reason i ask is that they have them on sale right now and i want to jump on them if they will work out well. thanks for the help everyone.

I know a guy running AP leafs on an 05 Tacoma. He likes them alot - enough to want to keep them over a set of slightly used Dakars that he tried to sell me (long story). Let me see if I can find some details.

I have heard that the Allpoo's are a nice flexy spring, but aren't meant for holding alot of weight. I'm going to be installing my Chevy 63"s this weekend on mine:coffee:

I had All Pro leaves on my '93. I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for since these are 5" springs, but I liked them. They flexed well and had a decent ride.

Here's a quote from the guy I know after 3 months use:

Oh, I love them. I sold my boat to finance the truck toys, so, I don't tow anymore.

AS far as payload goes. I can crawl my big 260 pound ass up on the bumper and jump up and down w/o them hardly flenching. However, I've not hauled anything since they've been on, either. So I can't really say.

They're **************, though. The rearend doesn't wander around under high speed bumps and stuff anymore. Oh, and they are still completely silent, even with the poly bushings.

By far the best thing I've ever done to this truck was replacing the crappy factory springs.

He hasn't been nearly as complimentary with his AP front coilovers FWIW. AP leafs aren't nearly as popular as Deavers and Dakars, but it sounds like you'll get much better performance over stock.

Another thought is Alcan springs. I had them on my FJ40 and another minitruck and loved them. Being able to customize the lift and spring rate was great. IMO, it's is a good idea to have them make the springs about 1" longer than they normally would. Both sets of springs that I had caused the shackle angle to be a little steeper than I like. Adding that extra length will improve the shackle angle and ride.

Anyway, just another option to consider.

thanks for the insight guys, another thing i was thinking was getting the 3 leaf add a leaf pack from wheelersoffroad.com which is apparently built by alcan. That kit is only 150 and comes with u bolts. The problem im finding is that guys say their all pro leafs have sagged and developed the same taco lean i have now. I dont want to spend big bucks ona new leaf pack and be in the same predicament 8 months down the road. My buddy has had the deaver 3 leaf add a leaf pack for about 3 years (50k miles) and they seem to be great. Anyone have experience with those? as always, thanks for the help. im itching to buy something lol!!!

For what it's worth, the All Pro springs on my blue truck, were on it when I bought it. They had been on for two years at that point and I had them on for another two years before I sold the truck. That last pic is just before I sold it and the springs were still in great shape.

For a custom spring I don't think that you can beat Deaver. We use them exclusively on Jav's race truck and most of those LocosMocos who aren't running the GM 63's use Deavers.

I put the GM's on Patch, the wonder Yota. I have nothing but good to say about that swap. It is a fairly major fab project that isn't easily reversed, so it's not for everyone.

I have a personal bias against AP's owner, so I'll stop there.
FWIW Marlin also offers springs.

I personally would MUCh rather give my money to Marlin as well. I pointed out the the All Pro springs I had were on the truck when I bought it and they were working well. Had I needed to purchase springs for the truck they would have been Marlin's or Alcan's.

My money went to Deaver and I am very glad it did. I went with an 8 leaf pack because I don't carry that much of a load and it rides great. I just recently carried about 800 pounds of junk from California to Texas and it rode great. Only sagged a little bit with the load but went roght back to normal unloaded. Fantastic daily driver and can carry more that I would need on a camping trip so I think I hit the jackpot for my needs. The flex is silly by the way.
