Is ARB ever going to do a rear bumper for the 2nd Gen Tacomas?

Sweet looking truck. I'm really happy with the deluxe bumper on my 2011.

You guys were working on a RTT quick-release system a few years ago. Did you ever finalize that design?

That was just something we put together via pieces sourced from a local hardware store. It was nothing we were going to produce.

On Facebook, a lot of people were asking what we were doing for a rear bumper. We actually removed the factory bumper and had it color matched to the truck. Looks way better than the chrome.

Am I the only one questioning the location of the fridge? Being "outside" rather than inside it has to work a lot harder to keep things cool, doesn't it? Also, it has a cooling fan - what effect is there of sucking all that dusty air into the fan and presumably into the compressor motor?

I would think either mounting the fridge inside the cab (obviously this would cut at least one seat) or at the very least making some kind of dust-resistant enclosure would be a smart thing to do.

Good question. First off about working harder, we are based just south of Seattle, it never gets hot here :). Actually this is where the insulated fridge transit cover would come into play. But since this will be shown at the Overland Expo show, we wanted to keep it uncovered to show everyone the fridge. Also, with the rack and the tent along with the accessories attached to the sides of the rack, the fridge will pretty much be in the shade and out of the elements all the time. So the fridge would probably be more efficient than in a hot cab of a truck.

The fridge is pretty resilient to the elements. We have seen many photographs of fridges mounted on truck ute beds in the Australian outback covered in dust.

Once the truck is back from the expo, we plan on having a custom canvas rack cover made that will take the fridge out of the elements. In the meantime, its in the open :)

I've been following this build on Twitterverse and have to say, I Love it. I actually remember you saying the canvas cover was in the works, but was not finished as of yet. I'm really liking the Tacoma lately. What a great platform to build off of. See you guys at Expo. I have a ton of good things to express about your product as well as your service. Amazing, comes to mind.

And the Tacoma is ready to leave for Arizona. It will be traveling south starting tomorrow morning. If you see it on the road, honk and wave :)
