ARB Twin High Performance 12 Volt Portable Air Compressor (CKMTP12)

Thanks guy's for the info.
Loup, sounds like it is working out great for you, even without a tank.

Fish, I do need it to be portable and not hard mounted, as I need all the space I can manage inside for various camping gear.
The Powertank is hard mounted, and it takes up a lotta room.

The problem is where to mount it.
Some put them on the MPAC side rack where I have my Powertank, but I am not giving that up.
When the camping gear is in there, it is quite tight, and a portable compressor in a case is much easier to stack on top of the other gear.

This is one reason I got the side rack was to relocate the Powertank off to the side to allow more room on the cargobox.
This was before I moved it.

I know the Puma is a great options but lets compare apples to apples. Does Puma offer a portable model capable of running air tools similar to that of the ARB? Outout and duty similar? I was under the impression the Puma offerings were more in line with the performance of the ARB medium option which is sub $300?

for 250 the puma comes with air tank and all, attached, if thats your speed.

i took that all off and use it a portable compressor only, and i just reseated a 275/85r16 km2 that ripped off in the mud with it. no reserve tank attached. i use NiCad tools otherwise. air tools in the field are soooooo yesterday.

(powertanks really are the ****, though)

I agree with the ARB twin compressor. We have installed a few behind the front grill, in front of the radiator. On an f150 it had to be mounted a little lower, sort of behind the front bumper. Done this way, you really dont need an extra air tank and storing a long air hose is easy compared to Power Tanks, etc.
