Artistic Shots- Well thought out, framed (positioned), artistic shots only please.

Thanks John. That one is one of my favorites too. Framing the sun through the bush helped tone it down a bit and gave a better angle on the cool reflected light on the rocks. :sombrero:

Taken the other week after we flew the patient using my iPhone (no, I did not abandon the patient to take some pictures). I really like the contrast between the beautiful sunset and pretty feel of the picture with the traumatic subject matter.

Nice stuff Clark. I'm guessing that's the moon in that 2nd image. I like it a lot as at first you think that it's the sun setting, till you notice the stars in the sky

That right Pat, it's moon rise. The clouds worked out really well for that picture, but not so well later on. I was hoping to get a shot with the full moon lighting the whole valley, but the clouds socked us in and it was pitch black about 45min after that picture was taken.

Honu, I thought my dog's were spoiled, but your's has his own camping cot!

From a hike this weekend. I was envisioning B&W, but i couldn't get it to work like I wanted. I think the colorized effect works for this one though, what do you guys think?

Almost looks like the bleached grunge effect...
While the composition seems right, there is just not enough to hold my attention. IDk if it is the effect or the image itself.
It might also just be to busy.

John, I think you are correct about the background. If it were sky rather than a tree it would work better, but as is the background is too distracting. I really like what I was going for in the image, so I was biased towards it but couldn't put my finger on what it was that wasn't working...background, I MUST pay more attention to the backgrounds!

Love that sheriff boat!

I had to look at the one with the wake boarder for awhile to figure out that was the towrope he had just let go of. I thought it was some sort of thing to hold the camera at first :)
