Artistic Shots- Well thought out, framed (positioned), artistic shots only please.

A lot of these shots are inspiring.

I need to get out more and make my own images. I've really gotten behind in my own work and needed to get inspired again.

Thanks. FWIW, I'd lost my creative mojo the second part of last year and found myself unmotivated to shoot. Two of my resolutions for 2009 were to grow as a photographer and make more "me time" ... so that's what I've been doing. Pushing myself to get out and enjoy the hobby. I highly recommend it. :D

Amen to all that. I have promised myself to do everything I can do to get my "mojo" back and find my inspiration again.

Great shots Rob! I absolutely love the church image.

Here's a shot a challenged myself to take. I walked into the naked woods and told myself, "OK, you're getting one shot that works in this complex labyrinth of sticks and branches." It took me a short while to find a comp with balance, but I think I got it, somewhat anyway. I'll let you guys and gals be the judge though.

Love the comp Trevor ... nice job! Excellent B&W as well, with good tonal range.

A couple I took today. With the first shot I knew I had good tones working in the scene. As the scene lay out before me, I looked at it and thought to myself, "looks like a Sumi-e ink brush painting." It's a willow tree reflected in water FYI.

In the second shot I simply recognized the symbolism of a three pointed star and the natural elements in which the shot lay, which were all observable. Ironic?

Fire in the sky

A couple sunset shots from this past Friday ... gotta love those few days in AZ when we have clouds in the sky!! :victory:

These were taken with 50D and 24-70 f/2.8L using a cirpol and 0.6 soft GND. Both are 3-exposures blended (manually) then processed in CS3. See flickr for EXIF and larger versions (click each).

Alternative composition from same location ...

Rob,
I normally don't like all the sunset photos; but you did an excellent job taking a photo of that tree, and using the sunset colors as the backdrop. Kudos.:wings:

Wow Rob, that's some intense colour, very nice! I need spring to arrive, everything around me is brown and ugly right now. I'm so ready to start shooting a little colour.
