my first tilt shift.

:D
These are fun shots.
I haven't done one of these yet so I do not know what you can or cannot do.
A few things make this shot not work very well though. The biggest two are the cactus in the foreground which is both blurred and in the section that is not blurred. Same for the outcropping of rock on the back side of the bridge. I would highly recommend adjust the focused are and if you can title it slightly diagonally I think I would work a lot better.

yeah i really needed to shoot from a different spot to get the cactus out of the frame altogether. the problem with the rock behind the bridge is that i'll loose the focus on the near side truss unless i zoom in or out too much for the effect. at least in my inexperienced try.

The tilt/shift, when used that way, makes it look like you are taking a photo of a model or diarama. The Lensbaby is known for giving this type of look to a photo.

Usually a tilt/shift would be adjusted in the opposite direction, so as to place almost everything into focus.

Think of this photo a that of a very detaild model landscape, with tiny little cacti, truck and bridge.:)

I'm surprized you have his wings stopped in motion at that slow of shutter speed. I guess the speedlights help. Those little buggers move quick!!
When working with flash typically it's the light that stops motion not the shutter. It is a very nice shot though isn't it.

I call this one, "BLACK AND BLUE" A black and white photo taken with a full Blue moon.

Truly an amazing shot!

More info about the hummingbird shot, the speed lights were set to 1/64 power setting which causes a very short duration of the flash. With this small power setting, the lights had to be placed within 10 inch of the subject.

Let me know if this doesn't qualify and I will delete it. I really like this shot of the Nooksack River I took this weekend.

Hey guys! Just found this thread... figured I'd share a couple of mine from my last trip up to Washington.

Sailboats always make an awesome shot... one of my favorite subjects:

And flowers are just too easy to shoot... they always seem to come out well...

More of a 'modern art' shot... I just liked the old time look to the interior of this ship:

One of my all time favorites... I've never seen so much water so calm... at first I didn't like the lens flare, but I realized it's needed, as it balances out the top corner.

I'd love to get some input!
