The following show the back wall, the hot water heater storage area, the electrical area, and the sink on the counter, of course upside down, but in location.

I am not much into having fancy wood on the walls, as this is an off road trailer. I use it to traverse the toughest trails, spend weeks in the wilderness. Most storage in a tear drop ends up being the bed and keeping the stuff from tearing up the wood finish becomes a bigger job than it is worth to me. I look for function, strength and structure. Will it do the Rubicon, John Bull, Carvacre, Kokopelli, Rose Garden Hill. If it won't it is not what I consider a real off road trailer. But the main question is if it can do those trails, can it do this year, next year and three times the following year. That is what I build for.

The following are some of the wiring of the trailer loom. Pictures after powder coating. We did three colors on this trailer, tan for the living quarters, white for the kitchen and black for the lower frame. The fenders are being Rhino lined. The floor has been water proofed and Rustolem rubber sealant sprayed on over it. The corners will have top of the line black silicone under on the sides then bolted to the main frame.

Wiring the junction box from pig tail to trailer. All wiring is 12 gauge, crimped, soldered and shrink wrapped. The electronics system with breakers and 12, 12 volt fuses is shown. All wiring will be done prior to putting the sides on the trailer. New system, but feel it will make things much quicker.

You are now up to date on the trailer build. Lost some time during the sand blasting and powder coating, but back to work now. Hopefully this trailer will be at Overland Expo.

So the squirrel finally found a nut (pictures), cool.

Trailer is looking good. Wiring looks pretty professional for a squirrel.

Tail lights in, all are soldered, double shrink wrapped and foam is added to secure wire from rubbing on sharp edges. Front floor panel is in, but not secured. Water tank in place, but lower skid is not installed. Will do that this afternoon or this evening. Skids are good sized so need to be lifted by more than one person or with a floor jack. Will make a change on the brake wire run. I had planned on it being between the tank and the skid, but concerned it may rub through, will drill to outside of frame rail, run it along the skid attachment area and drop down on axle. Most likely safer in the first place.

I have always enjoyed the quality and attention to detail you put into your trailer. A couple questions I have not been able to find answers to. Is your water tank metal, plastic or stainless steel? If metal do you treat the inside to avoid rust? Can you post info on the monster battery you are now using.

Also FYI Dexter makes torsion axles with rating down to 600-1000 lbs.

Water tank is plastic, the battery is from a company in Los Angles. They make Chairman, Guardian and Concorde batteries. 255 amp hour, weight 158 pounds I think is what they claim. I know it is a heavy lug.

Yes Dexter makes them way down the scale, but I believe they only go to 1800 with the 3500 pound bearings and brakes. I do not have that in writing, and actually never shop for them, just order them to the weight I want. I can check with Phil Duckworth, he is the National Sales manager, I am sure he can answer the question if it is a question

Thanks for the kind words guys, I truly appreciate them. I build these as my own, every single one. I continuously strive to make them better, I spend hours just looking at things and how to do them a better way. Mine are not lazor cut, computer designs, with blue prints for every crack and corner. Mine are hand built, working with steel is different, welding changes pull, angles and even height at times. But my goal for every one is to last the life time of the original owner and on. I have many trailers that I built for the desert that are still working perfectly after 30 years. I do not build them to make a living, I build them because I love doing it. It is not a job, it is a way to stay busy and creative.

So your words mean a great deal to me, positive or negative, I listen to every one and try and use everyone's comments to make my trailers better.

Some very exciting things are coming soon.
