Lookin' good.. You guys are no longer using the Fiama awnings?

Also, quick question on the Chaser... do you need to run trailer brakes on that unit?

We are using the Eezi Awn here on the prototype as it's a 2 meter awning (78.75 inches) so the length is just right taking into account the 72" length of the lid and the brackets extending out further than that.

The Fiamma awning is 1.8 meters (70.87 inches) so it's not long enough as is for this set up. We will be working on some extender bars so we can make the fit happen on the 1.8 Fiamma.

The Eezi Awn awning is more expensive but does allow for the attachment of wall panels.

The base Chaser weighs 700 lbs and California only requires brakes on trailers weighing 1500 lbs.

Thanks for the fast reply Martyn... also, what's turn around time right now on a base chaser?

Five weeks for a Chaser powder coated white.

As you can imagine delivery dates change from day to day, we are normally 6-8+ weeks out. This summer was a little trying for us as one of our major suppliers is involved in military contracts and they take presidency over all other orders.

Same problem we found trying to get 37 inch and larger tires all summer, the military had bought them all up, they are just now coming back on the market.

Download the Chaser price sheet from http://www.adventuretrailers.com/chaser.html and start to play with the numbers.

If you're matching tires and rims we'll need to know the combined back spacing, tire and rim, and we need to know if the rim is hub centric or lug centric.

I noticed that the lid with gas strut is a option? So what does the cargo box come with? No top? Just a open metal box?

You got it. Just OEM Toyota FZJ80 wheels... maybe you guys have done them already? 4.5" backspacing with a lug centric rim.

Anyone have pics of the tailgate option for the chaser???

Also, since im local to you guys and have been to your shop in the past.. is it possible to buy the base model and buy the add-ons and install them myself down the road?

I've been talking with Martyn and we're getting ready to pull the trigger on a Horizon with 1800 tent and fridge with solar system. The fridge sliding out the rear was the reason we we're going with the Horizon. The cargo boxes on the sides are also great.
Should be placing the order in the next couple weeks. :wings:

SWEET! Glad to see you coming over to the trailer side:)

Saw yours and had to keep up with the Walckers! (instead of jones's? get it? i know not very funny)
It won't be like this week or next.. but within the next few months (hopefully by Surf N Turf) we'll have one... I have to spread out that weight somehow! Now time to save my coins and not put any more money into the 80.

I've got a "loaded" Horizon on the way probably to be delivered in October I suspect. Consider opting for linexed front of each side box and even the 3 front facing sides of the tongue box (panels will be black). Mine will be pretty loaded silver metallic, black rims, 33" BFG MT KMs (while still available) and most other goodies offered. Red rock pearl coat Jeep is ready for towing (it also doubles as a toad). Needless to say, I'm ready to go exploring the AZ desert this winter. AT has been simply terrific to work with as I have requested several invoice changes back and forth with them. It's pretty complete now.

Do yourself a favor and opt for the Line-X or whatever AT is using on as much of the front facing panels as possible. Mine has gotten pulverized over the past year (you'll be fine on pavement but God help ya on gravel unless it's coated)...I'll be taking care of this on mine very soon!

X2 :iagree: I even installed mud flaps on the Rover and stray rocks still sneak by! I've got to get my down to Line X soon.

Glad to see I have such an afffect on people:) In all seriousness, it has made camping a lot of fun and much easier for me and the family. Probably the single best upgrade that I have made! I'm sure you will love it!

I drew up custom mudflap plans to allow relatively quick install/removal onto my Slee rear bumper. But some have said, even inspite of the large heavy "flap" material I was going to use that it wouldn't help that much. What do you think?

Mario, I like the addition of the calculator on the water tank. I don't believe that was an option when we bought Harry. In reality, though, a GPS would be more practical. :)

Actually it's a teleporter design we've been working on...I'll let you know how it works out if I ever get back :)
