AT Tacoma Habitat: Official Thread

Any customer reviews? Any dirt inside during desert driving? Any wear or leak issues with the fabric?

I shared some of my thoughts earlier in the thread, but I can try to chime in. No dirt or dust to speak of yet, but I didn't spend much time in the desert before heading back east. I suspect the rear door might let a little in if anything did, just because it's just gasketed to the lip of the tailgate, but nothing to report yet. No leaks in the fabric after a couple of mild rain storms. Haven't had it long enough to judge wear. :)

You will find some commentary if you read back through this thread.

Any plans for it a flip forward version, for those folks that tow trailers?

Also, can electric actuators be added in place of the gas struts?

No plans for either at this point.

how far above the roof line is the over hang? ie if I wanted to mount a roof rack, how low would it need to be to fit under, or would I have to get a shorter rack (front to back)?

any other pictures to be had of the production models?

side note is there a build thread on the white truck in the offical photos?

thanks!

Have you considered adding a ladder to allow two access points? Normally the bed works fine but a ladder would be a nice addition to avoid waking people up in the middle of the night if you're trying to sleep 4.

There is a zippered door on each side of the tent that allows for that already.

The underside of the overhang is 23" above the truck bed rail. All of these dimensions are available on our website http://adventuretrailers.com/campers/toyota-habitat/ If you read back through the thread you will find mention of the K9 rack that is compatible with the Habitat.

Pictures of production models can be found on our Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/AT.Overland/photos

The white truck shown with the prototype belongs to L2MTB on this forum. He may have a build thread, I am not sure.

One in Durango. If this is convenient then you should email me at AT. There will be one at the FJ Cruiser Summit in Ouray tomorrow 7/20 through 7/24. It is the one we built for L2MTB.

Damn... I wish... I'm in Denver and don't think I can make it down this weekend. I should have thought about asking if you'd have a presence there... DOH!

Thanks again for answering my questions. I think I'm just gonna have to take the GF to the Grand Canyon (she's never been)... and "stumble upon your shop" since it's "on the way" or at least that's what I'm gonna tell her! LOL

Are these available for 1st gen tacos? I have an 03 double cab and I'm in the market for a flippac, but this seems like a much better option for me.

The Habitat will fit all three generations of the Tacoma, we just have to use different fit kits.

so does that mean I could buy the Habitat for my 1st gen, then transfer it to a 2nd gen later? or is the "fit kit" part of each habitat? also, I know you guys said on the prototype you had to remove the bed caps on the 2nd gens... is that still the case or did that change with the production models...

Thanks
