If you are interested in viewing our new Global Warrior motorhome conversion ...please go to the album linked below and scroll through using the " Next" button. Once you click "Next", they should pop up in a new window with a brief explanation in the comments section.

Hope this works......just wanted to thank Red our graphic artist who has just joined our staff today and young Mitch who we contract for all our photographic work.

WOW very nice ! :Wow1:

I did have viewing problems; my computer screen got all fogged up from heavy breathing, the key board go wet from drooling, and I keep having to access my on-line banking to see which kid would not go to college to come up with the funds for a U.S delivered Global Warrior :sombrero: The only suggestion I would add is to have a few of the exterior off-road 'glamour' photos large enough to be used as computer wallpapers.

I have to say everything is so well thought out, your decades of experience sure show in the design and features.

GREAT JOB. ATW is an inspiration to us mere morals.

2 questions ?
The "Secure recovery locker " shown here : http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=1658&attachmentid=149288 looks to be in the same location (right side forward of rear wheel) as the main entry door. Am I seeing that wrong, or is this some ultra-cool dual door set-up?

Also who is the manufacturer or source for the kitchen sink shown here ? : http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=1658&attachmentid=149267

Very nice. I like the bright clean look. Also appears to be all molded smooth fiberglass. Easy to keep clean. I like it.

PS regarding my question about the rear overhand appearing very long. I just realized in looking at the new pictures that the up-swept overhang starts right at the rear tires not at the bumper. Makes the overhang appear longer then it really is.

Would really like to see on in real life.

Dear Lord Jesus! Few things could get me to turn to a life of crime like that does. I better not drive by a bank on the way home from work.

Thanks guys for the comments.

I should also explain that the reason we joined ExPo under the ATW username was so that other staff members could post in an official capacity. Thanks. If its me I will always sign off as John (whatcharterboat).

And Kerry , its always a pleasure......but those girls would be all grown up by the time they let you out. Maybe we could accept a trailer sailor as a trade-in.

John

It looks like there are two doors - one on each side - the one on the right side accesses the vertical locker while the one on the left side is the entry. I think its done this way to make it easy to offer a door on either side depending on the country / customer.

Very nicely done.

Hi Mog.......you did read all the comments? Sorry if it isn't explained well enough.....I will edit the comments ASAP.

The main entry door is on the left hand side. The recovery locker is on the righthand side. Externally the vehicle is completely symmetrical with all doors, hatches etc being in the same location on no both sides. Therefore the North American model will have the recovery locker shifted over to the left hand side and the main entry door will be on the right hand side....yes. It is very clever if I do say so myself.

We need to have a completely different floor mould for the LHD version and one or two other small moulds but otherwise all the parts are common for both LHD and RHD.

Smev....aren't they available in North America?

That is what I thought the first time through the photos, but I could not pick out the door on the left side (only one oblique photo of the left side). But reviewing the photos, yup there is a tall vertical door on the left side also.

Hi HowardH......yes the fibreglass work is exceptional. Far better than anything we've done in the past. Everything is double sided and infused mainly using vinylester....the other big thing that you don't see is that everything was CAD designed in house with the files converting to tool paths and all plugs were CNC tooled either in house or by sub contractors for a couple of the larger parts. The tolerances are to the millimetre and the gel coat finish is like a mirror.

We have engaged composite engineers too so the whole composite layup is recorded, tested and can be altered in a calculated fashion if required. At this point, they are a little overbuilt.

Yeah....the composite work is to the highest standard. Get up close to a common RV and look down along the side, then checkout the " print through" and you'll understand what I mean.

John

Hi HowardH.....I just realised something that I may not have explained to you before.

The overhang on the Crewcab version is quite a bit longer than on the single cab version. This vehicle has a 4000 mm wheelbase with camper sitting further aft whereas a single cab version will have a 3400mm WB. The wheel arch is then cut in wherever the axle needs to sit or replaced with a larger arch for bigger unimog size wheels.

Once you see the next single cab completed , the overhang won't appear nearly as extreme.

Regards
John.

I wonder if I could fit that setup into my garage... ;)
