Had a look at all my roof rack mounts:

Mounted them to get some measurements:

And found out the roof rack is way too small. Need to widen it by 37cm:

Brought the roof rack in the shop:

Took some measurements:

Cut it in the middle:

Cut some tubing:

Put it back together, widened by 53,5cm:

This is how it`ll go together:

Welded from both sides:

Painted the welds:

Put the roof rack on the sprinter:

The mount`s don`t fit at all:

So i took the angle grinder to work:

Looks a lot better:

Tacked it in:

Next where the 4 inner mounts:

Removed the roof rack:

Drilled some holes to mount the checker plate:

Then i painted everything and called it a day:

Put some insulation on the checker plate to prevent it from ratteling:

Put the mounts back on:

The ski boxes:

Two work lights. Not sure on the position though:

Mounted two reverse lights:

Also one on top of the slider door:

Then i started building the ladder:

Bent up some tubing for the heater:

Mounted a radiator:

And tried my new snow chains and found a place for them:

Then we took off for holidays:

Unfortunately some guy tried to break in. Luckily he wasn`t successfull:

Any tipps on how to make it more safe? I mean i can build some solid locks on the inside but i still have to go out and this door can`t be locked from the inside.
Already building a small safe.

You might see if http://www.armaplate.com/ has any products for the T1N. They may help.

The easiest way to break into a T1N, is to pry out the smaller front windows. They come out pretty easily unless they are glued in.

Deadlocks and handle protection are pretty much standard for vans in London now.

Some security film on the windows will help slow someone down but there's not much you can do about the windows unless you're willing to fit mesh guards. I met a couple of guys travelling in a vanagon in Mexico who had fabricated some neat window guards which were held in place by shutting the door, when you unlocked and opened the door they unclipped very easily. Gave them reassurance when they left the van whilst surfing all day.

@Nick that first one looks just like a standard house door deadbolt. I like that idea!

Thanks for the replies guys. I think i`ll go with a massive chain between both front doors, tie the rear doors togehter from the inside and put an outside lock on the slider door.

Finished the coolant lines:

Anyone got a diagramm of the coolant lines? Especially the heater core and the espar heater? Or a pic with the cabin air filter assembly removed?

Aren't you worried about that copper vibration hardening and cracking over time? Guess the question is how much time?
