Well now I have to.
Well now I have to.
They're a small enough shop but they've been gaining traction in the past year or so. They're also the shop who I partnered with to make the bed stiffener that integrates the rack support.Looks good! Are they local to you or was it something they offer?
Once I went all in on the new suspension and knew I wasn't going with "thru bed" rear shocks that needed to use that space I ended up going with this. It is already what I had set up but cleans the bed up a bit and adds room for a jack that actually fits my truck. Also without the rack accessories I could fit 2 tires in the spot on top of each other.I dig it! I have been thinking about getting something similar for a long time. I don't really need it but would be nice to have a legit tie down when I am offroad.

Travel for work hasn't been bad. The truck has a bench seat. It makes me appreciate mine a lot but a few things make it really nice to live with.
Same program, different specific project. I'm enjoying it even if it takes me away from home on the holidays!Still working on the same project you posted about earlier?
I have the 6.2, the first gen are aging like fine wine. They're retaining value quite nicely, even if thats not the point at all. RPG makes a nice kit as well and definitely thought about going that route, but would have wanted to bring my truck to them specifically. The current generation is extremely nice and driving a newer F150 has some gears moving about a newer truck purchase but the cost is just insane. Its not so much I can't afford it, its that I see limited value in buying a truck above 60k.Perfect daily driver addition. What motor? I just picked up a 2013 Raptor with an RPG setup to be the toy, and my Super Duty will now be more daily/tow pig/basecamp-minded. Love the first generation Raptors, and this is my second, but there are definitely some aspects of the newer trucks that are nice, too!
100%. Love the 6.2 Gen 1's and I think that as an adventure vehicle/toy, its the version to go with. They retain their value, and I think the blend of relative simplicity, steel body, and the 6.2/6-speed combo will outlive most of the Gen 2/Gen 3 trucks, provided you have a clean one to start in a salt-free environment. I only picked this truck up because it was here in Texas and was a fraction of what it would have cost to buy a clean stock truck and do everything from scratch.I have the 6.2, the first gen are aging like fine wine. The 6.2 is just such a good engine; In the Raptor its just barely tuned up to give a bit of performance but its heritage is in work trucks which can be abused, have insane mileage and idle hours put on them. And I know I have taken care of my truck far better than some F250 fleet truck with a 6.2. I do like the 10 speed automatic a whole hell of a lot, but that also has a lot to do with the engine; the 3.5EB I had as a rental in Nashville was noticeably more enjoyable than the naturally aspirated junk V6 I have as a rental now. I think the 10 speed would be a beaut attached to a 6.2. That being said, no issue with the 6 speed. After a Rover V8 with a ZF 4 speed, this is amazing. I haven't been salt free, being attached to the coast line, but damn near it. I'm certainly not in the rust belt.100%. I agree on the cost of new trucks - I picked up my current SD when rates were still low and prices hadn't skyrocketed. I just can't mentally justify 60k+ for a half ton, let alone 70+ for an HD truck lately. Although it does seem like incentives and rebates are coming back.
Is the new F-150 a 5.0 or Ecoboost?
I think the vast majority of buyers feel the same way. Truck prices are still crazy high. But, around here we're seeing a lot of discounts to get them moving.but the cost is just insane. Its not so much I can't afford it, its that I see limited value in buying a truck above 60k.
