Hey y'all, long time no talk. I haven't died. I was just really busy pushing my program to completion, and we finally crossed the finish line. It went well all things considered.



However about a month later we dealt with some layoffs and some family stuff that made it clear that I wanted to downsize, so I ended up selling some of the toys but me being me I couldn't leave empty handed so I ended up picking up this Kawasaki KLX300R for a smoking good deal in the hopes of doing some overnight motocamping or camping out of the truck with the bike near a trail. I passed up some of the bigger, higher strung MX bikes based on my skill level and cost and what I'm reasonably going to see here in Florida, at least for the time being while I live here.....



I need to pick up some gear and a few other bits and bobs but theres about 150 miles of OHV land up in Ocala that I'm just itching to ride before the heat and humidity become oppressive. More to come!

Awesome! Congrats on the bike! I'm sure you'll love it. Can't wait to get out on mine. Hoping in a month or so. I wait until the street sweepers have been out to get rid of the pea gravel they use to sand the roads in winter....

Also looking forward to seeing McDavid return to our line up. They need him, lol

I am super stoked to take it out! I have some travel for business that is happening later this week and into next weekend but the weekend after I'm planning to head to ocala for 2 days; they have about 130 miles of OHV land plus some camping sites that aren't just RV parks. I plan on breaking it in over that period. Maybe even bring the oil and spark plug with me and do it at the camp site so I can keep riding after the 5 hours.

I've been watching the Oilers a bit. Drai is easily the best player in the league right now, and thats saying something since Kucherov is on a mission and honestly, low key Nylander has emerged as probably the best of Toronto's 3 headed monster. They just have to sort out of the goaltending. If any of the top third of starting goalies was on that team they'd be far and away favorites. There was some talk they were in on Spencer Knight... they should have moved heaven and earth to make it happen.

It might not be the best situation to make your NHL debut in, but it's a first nonetheless.

Sounds like a good plan to me! So are you getting a trailer that can tow a bike and a jet ski? Does something like that even exist?

Yeah, I like Skinner and he's a home town boy but.....He's been a weak link. Pickard had a brutal night a few games ago too... Let in 5 goals in the 2nd period against the Kraken.. I turned off that game, lol

For now, just a hitch hauler type setup. I don't think I'll have too many cross over trips where all of that is needed. I have seen someone turn the WC2-2 trailer that I have to haul their full sized harley and their seadoo, but thats putting a lot of work into an already 3800 usd trailer. If I absolutely had to, I think I could make something work.

Skinner needs to see a sports therapist or something because he is better than this. Pickard is good, but hes a solid backup in the era of tandem 1a/1b guys. Despite this the oilers are in my small group of "real shot at winning it all".
