Battery Cables & Terminal Corrosion

You could save some money on the crimper and use a propane torch and solder. I've been doing this for years for battery and winch cables, and its an acceptable enough practice that you can get correctly sized solder pellets for production work.

Don't skip the heat shrink though, and I usually follow it up with red or black electric tape.

Friday I called the person at EnerSys I've talked to a couple of times before (the first time in '09 when someone was claiming the Platinums were an Odyssey lower quality store brand) and she told me that the Platinums are still identical to the Odyssey and made on the same production line, just as they have been since they started making them in 2007.
